One of my favorites was, park at KH about a mile away from streetwork territory (FS meeting was next), make one circuit (magazines in hand) doing streetwork. At least 1 1/2 hours complete with a coffee break, and a breakfast break, being careful not to break the 14:59 rule.

Truth hurts

remember before i was baptized, i wondered onto a hostile site and felt a sickening dread, when i confronted the sister who studied with me she reassured me that i shouldn't worry, all the stuff on those sites are written by bitter outcasts who have nothing constructive to offer, "after all", she said, ""did you ever read anything upbuilding there?
" well, here i am baptized, back on the net 4 years later and wham!!

Unsure, one thing you will find here is FREEDOM-freedom to think, freedom to question, freedom to express onesself.
The WTS has made an art form out of convincing people to examine their religious beliefs, has consistently criticized other religions for their misguided application of scripture, or lack of application altogether.
Yet, can it TRULY be said that the WTS can withstand to such scrutiny itself? One has only to look at their prophetic announcements, for example, 1914, 1925, 1975. By their own writings, they qualify as a FALSE PROPHET.
I believe that if 6 million JW's truly had the "truth", a few "apostates" could not possiby shipwreck anyones faith.

The WTS specializes in this kind of rhetoric-SAYING NOTHING, TALKING LOUD.
Consider the following:
Heres what they say about so-called "apostates"
All their writings simply criticize and tear down! Nothing is upbuilding.
What could be more upbuilding than seeking change to policies which destroy, and in some cases END lives?all of which is designed to undermine the faith of Jehovah's people.
I would change that to "all of which is designed to RELEASE PEOPLE FROM THE CULT CONTROL OF THE WTS"To what have the apostates returned?
Normal lives free from serving the interests of a self-perpetuating organization which has exploited the spirituality that God has instilled in each one of us.Moreover, most no longer take a firm Scriptural stand regarding blood, neutrality,....
The BLOOD ISSUE? The WTS has assumed the role of doctors and God himself with its most recent "blood fractions" crap. NEUTRALITY??? Can you say MEXICO?15 Some may be inquisitive about accusations that the apostates make.

Society instructions to elders about child abuse
by ozziepost inin view of current developments it may be useful to some who have come to the child abuse issue only recently to highlight the watchtower society's instructions to elders.. in a letter to boe dated november 1, 1995 they make the incriminating statement "it is important to first obtain the society's direction to protect both the elders and the organisation.

Elders under daily pressure

elders are pressured from the society who use the medium of the co visit as well as letters from the branch office.
this pressure may even be termed pressurising.

Hi Ozzie-excellent points you made:
The pressure that these brothers are under is constant. It's typical of a works based theological structure that an organisation like the Watchtower has.
They, too, are victims.
Sadly many of them believe they are doing a good work by being elders.The elders are the equivalent of middle-management in any corporation. The bear alot of pressure, and therefore can end up as sacraficial lambs when matters arent handled properly.

Advice From an MS
by BoozeRunner inreading some posts tonite made me think of some advice i was given by a ms one day.. at the kh one sunday, i had genuinely asked brother g. how he was feeling.
i knew he had health problems and could see he was kind of uncomfortable.
he replied that his blood pressure had been high, and he was feeling the effects of it.. he then went on to explain that he rarely goes into detail because most brothers and sisters dont want to hear a persons problems.

I understand what you mean. I can appreciate the demands that life puts on many. The WTS likes to brag so much about the so-called "Spiritual Paradise" they claim to have, when in fact, pressures of life effect JW's in the same way as non-JW's.
Sometimes we simply dont have time or energy to listen to all we would like to about another's tribulations.Boozy

i had recieved an invitation to listen to one of those time-share schpiels in the poconos.
we werent intrested, but figured it was a good way to spend a saturday.
