Along with Comf, I often think of this line from the James Bond movie "The World Is Not Enough":
Whats the point in living if you cant feel alive?

my mother is coming to visit me next week.
i haven't seen her for over 4 years.
she thinks that somehow i am a completely different person since leaving the organization.

...with stops along the way in bird-in-hand and lancaster.. that's right.
today, i, my wife and my mother-in-law loaded ourselves into the car and drove down to pennsylvania dutch country, where we visited the towns of intercourse, paradise, and the others i mentioned.
we went to the mennonite information center, where we heard a lecture about the israelite tabernacle in the wilderness, enhanced by viewing an actual size model of the tabernacle.
Nikita, heres the link I got the town names from. It has some odd town names from all over.

calling all dubbies in the middle atlantic states unlucky enough to have been assigned to the annual sauna in philly july 11-13.. as the u.s, northeast bakes in sweltering heat and debilitating humidity, what greater first-hand evidence can you find of bethel's callous indifference to your well-being than their persistence in scheduling these pointless hum-drum events in such a notorious blast-furnace environment as vets stadium, when just across the street, at the spectrum, and in countless other venues, air-conditioned auditoriums are readily available to them?
repeated, public warnings in the media of the health hazard to the very young and elderly posed by such conditions fall on deaf ears in brooklyn.
cancel?
The VET has to be the most insufferable place in the middle of July, yet the WTS continues to book that outdoor furnace each and every year. What a bunch of "loving" folks who plan the conventions!!!

I think the proper driving route is as follows: Leave BLUEBALLS and head for VIRGINVILLE. Take object of affections to VIRGINVILLE and be sure to CLIMAX when you PORKEY!!!!!!

i just wanted to share a few things that are on my heart and mind...hope you don't mind reading.
the church i'm affiliated with has several sister churches around the world.
the purpose of those relationships is to encourage and help each other grow in our relationship with god and christ, whether it be by spiritual encouragement or physical help.
Andi, what a great experience for you, and what a wonderful way to give of yourself. Have a happy, fun, and safe trip. We will miss you.

if you could "bump your head" and forget all the crap that came with being a witness, would you?
but, in some way, i think i have grown from the experience & have learned from it, and it has made me be a better personl, less judgemental, more tolerant, more open.
but, if there was a magic pill to erase it- hmm......hell yes i'd do it!
I DEFINITELY agree with Jan. Our experiences make us what we are. Learn from the bad, and take the good with us. People we've met along the way are also part of that experience. I believe that seeing the truth about the "TRUTH" has made me a better person.

this website is very misleading!
it says its for jehovahs witnesses, for brothers and sisters!!!
and this site is no such thing!
Andee.....
Well, that would describe me. I'm sitting on my ass in front of the computer reading and posting to this site!
And SUCH a lovely Apostapotatoe you are.

everyone remember a few years ago with the gb decided that the rank and file witness just wasn't bugging the hell out of enough people because no one was ever home saturday morning?
they came up with the brainstorming idea to approach people in parking lots!!!
(ya, that goes over reeeeeeeal well)......as if going to the person's home to tell them about their imminent death wasn't bad enough, now ya gotta tell them when they're out shopping!
hmmmm...why even bother approaching folks in the bathroom? Just invent "stall-paper" and line the stall walls with mags, and tracts!!!

i was pondering this theory this morning - what do you all think?.
a few months ago i went to visit someone from my last congregation who is now also an x-jw.
what is interesting is that, though completely straight-laced within the congregation, he became absolutely out of control once he left and is now trying to figure out how to get his life together.
Slipandslide-good observation-I agree.
