  do you think that the better the job that you have or the higher the social standing you have, makes it more likely that you will be an elder in comparison to those that are less fortunate???

  Schizm-Hi,I guess I can understand your point to a certain extent.I want to know why smaller groups of people that actually care about each other meet together at someones house and discuss the bible?Why can't the preaching work be done by a persons EXAMPLE?Why do thet need all that crap literature.Why would true christians need kingdom halls?In fact,this man made orginazation resembles nothing of early christians.Typical dub loaded language.They take the scripture they need to fill thier bogus doctrines with and fixate on them.

  "Do not forsake the gathering of one another"----WTBTS turned that into"you have to go to five meetings a week,3 assemblies a year,10 hours a month embarassing yourself and your family being a magazine salesman."

  If I had a garbage NWT bible or any bible for that matter I'd have alot more.

  Can you sit here and say that just a few hugely false doctrins keep you away from that manipulating cult?

  Entrapment(?): Bethelite Disfellowshipped for Gluttony

  when i was in bethel around 1975,,i was told by a few brothers while eating at my assigned table, that there was a brother there that would eat a lot(more than his fair share) and so they(gb, or higher ups) plotted to get him df'd.

  what they did was have the waiters brings all kinds od food to the table and this brother just ate and ate when we had consumed enought they brought him before a committee and df'd him for gluttony and greediness.

  is there any one here on this forum that witnessed this??

  what do you think would happenif every x-jw showed up for a sunday meeting,with just a bible{any version you like}and a smiling face.everyone acted as if the borg had no control over them.i'm not saying be disrespectful,you just smile,and act as if you aren't under the societies authority.no literature,no rhetoric,just peace and humility.. .

  that would make a statement!

  ps.a strong young couple in my old hall just da'ed themselves,it made my day.

  ...or not so new-----i'm seeing that they are getting rid of people on false charges.

  to the person, they are going after them and confronting them on whatever it may be but when it comes to official reasons for deletion, they are giving false information.

  this morning, i heard that another elder got deleted for going to a believer/unbeliever's wedding.it was also reported that he was caught "talking to a disfellowshipped person".

  just introducing myself

  i never did become a jw but i did associate with them for a few years by attending meetings, going house to house, and all that fun stuff.

  anyway, i have so much in my mind that i cannot possibly say in one post.

  basically i saw/heard many things during my association with jw that i just didn't agree with or just made me wonder if they were truly teaching the "truth", which i have recently come to the conclusion that there is no truth.

  it's been a heck of a while, since i've heard of any kingdom hall construction.

  i remember back in the late 80's, almost every month, there was a new kingdom hall being built.

  Was the 1980's the pinnacle in JW regime?It all seemed to be going so well.The hall where I grew up in used to have over 100 people on sundays,now ,I hear that theres 35 showing up.HA HA ,you jerks who ruined my families life.
