  how long to baptism?

  i have recently started a bible study, and think that i may like to be baptised.. i was wondering how long does someone have to study before they are baptised?.

  also, i was wondering how many hours do people spend on their mission (door to door).

  i would be thankful for any help, as i am just like many, searching for awnsers.

  Hi Lost Truth,

  Let me just tell you that when you first start going, and are taking steps towards baptism everybody at the hall treats you great. If you are willing to lose any individuality, and give up on all your family and friends who don't believe what the witnesses have to say then it's the religion for you. The reality is I was born as a Jehovah's Wittness, and spent 25 years of my life trying to please them. The only thing I have to show for it is a lot of regret that I hadn't quit sooner. The witnesses are nothing more than a cult that sucks the life out of people. It revolves around 12 old guys that think they know everything, and you know nothing. I admit that some of their teachings seem really great. But in the end all you will find are lies. I hope you come to the right decision for you in the end, but really think about what you are getting yourself into first. A good book to read is "The Awakening of a Jehovah's Witness" it's written by Dianne Wilson. She tells you her story, and in the end it's like alot of us here on this website. Take care.

  Does Talking Negatively About "Jehovah" Bother You??

  do you ever feel nervous or a little guilty talking about "jehovah god" in a negative way?

  It did for a little while, probably the first year after I was out. But eventually I realized that if Jehovah did exist I would be screwed at Armagedon anyways. I also am not a slave to a God who uses fear, guilt, and bullying tactics in his so called organization. I realized that if I was going to leave, I had to not be afraid of Jehovah or his cronies anymore. If that means telling God where to put it so be it.

  told lies and invented other stories and scenerios to hide the fact that i was coping with coming out of a cult.

  I just got off of being reproved for having a few to many drinks. I kept trying to go, and then they kept treating me like I was a little kid. Then I had a sister yell at me for parking crooked, and I blew my roof. I just quit going, but it's had a lot of effects on my behavior. I'm not nearly as nice of a person as I used to be, I just had it with peoples' crap. It also affeced my marriage for a little while.

  It sounds like a cross between a Resident Evil movie, and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom on crack. That's actually pretty funny cause I think the Governing Body is crazy enough to do that.

  Worse neighbor experiences

  some family moved in across the street a few months ago.

  i have never talked to them.

  all i know about them is what the other neighbors had to say.

  No, I live in Wisconsin. But it sounds like they were inbred to me. Trust me on this when I say we had these neighbors who every time me and my wife were in the shower for more than 3 minutes would beat on the wall and scream we were using all the hot water. Yet on Sunday mornings when I had to get ready for the meeting they would spend 25 minutes in the shower, and use every ounce of hot water. That used to piss me off so bad.
