The JW religion destroys the lives of young people. Telling them not to go get more education, and denying them the oppurtunity to participate in sports or other after school activities seriously stunts their self-esteem and potential. I hate them for destroying my childhood, and I hope those 12 old losers die off soon.

Elder says: Young People don't want to flip burgers to pioneer
by truthseeker ini approached an elder last week, and asked him if the society was against higher education because of the comments brought out in the drama.
he said the society disapproves of higher education.. .
he privately told me he disagrees with the view the society has on education - he said it should be a personal choice.. .

Do you believe the earth is warming up in your area?
by JH inwe hear so much about global warming, that we wonder if it's a myth or real.
is it just in fractions of a degree or much more.. since posters here are from all corners of the world, i'd like to hear from you, and let us know if you see a difference in the weather patterns in your area, since the last few years.. here, i notice that more people have air conditioners in their homes than before, and most cars have them today.
does this mean that its hotter, or that the population is getting older and people are less resistant to heat?.

Could we be right, and they be right too?
by JH inis it possible that just about everything we say about the jw's on this forum is true, but on the other hand they would be the only true religion that god approves, even though they are imperfect and make errors?

Were You Pressured To Get Baptized?
by minimus inmost persons, imo, are pressured to get baptized.
they are told they "should be ready".
children are made to feel that jehovah will not protect them any longer at a certain age.

Funny. I actually wanted to get baptized. I was 12, and thought I wanted to serve Jehovah forever. I would never betray my faith and become a wicked apostate. It's really funny how things change when you grow up. I find it ridiculous the most important decision of my life supposedly was made at such an early age. Yet they encourage this so they can trap the young JW's at an early age.

Danny, I bet you would lose any congregational responsibilty if they found out you were associating with apostates on this board. The way the JW's preach against bad association, you would be the topic of a special needs part. I've seen and been hung by power hungry elders and CO's for less.

The WTS destructive image of God.
by greendawn inafter leaving the jws did you alter that severe, unsmiling, exacting, unforgiving ie destructive image of god that the wts was projecting very much in the spirit of the old testament?
.
or perhaps did you altogether get rid of a god image?

how do JWs justify having children "in the last days?"
by kid-A inin the years leading up to 1975, there was an implicit (if not explicit) discouragement of having children given the proximity of armageddon.
for the most part, this seemed to have been ignored.
my jw grandma now has great-great grandchildren.
