Lori, I'm so sorry that your family excluded you. The same thing happened to us with JW family who lived up the road and it was very hurtful. I will never understand the mentality behind shunning family members. At least you have your husband with you and you can be thankful for that. Enjoy your evening with him and try not to worry too much about those who weren't true friends to begin with.

they have family visiting from out of state and there is a big family dinner tonight - but omg its not a thanksgiving dinner.

To Brine or Not To Brine

i've brined for 2 years now, but am not sure if i want to do that this year.
anyone else brine their birds?.

My husband brined our turkey and then smoked it and it was hands down the best turkey we have ever had. Brining keeps the turkey moist whether you roast it or smoke it. I would recommend brining it for 1 hour for every 3 lbs or a 3 hour minimum. We had a 28 lb turkey so we brined ours overnight. Give it a try, you won't regret it.

Santa Claus Parade - Oh so evil
by Uzzah inwell i was in the local santa claus parade today marching along with a few others from one of the local service clubs.
the streets were lined with children bundled up to stay warm, waving at everyone passing by with random shouts of merry christmas coming from their young, happy and eager faces.
older people in wheelchairs, smiling brightly as they watched the floats and tapping their feet merrily to the christmas tunes.. thousands of people coming together laughing, wishing each other well, smiling faces and happy memories being formed of family time together.. christ's birthday or just a family time and tradition doesn't really matter.. i was truly happy today.

I'm glad you had a good time Uzzah. I had planned on attending a Parade on Saturday but was hit with the flu. I'm hoping to recover in time to attend one of the Christmas festivals next week with a couple of friends of mine. Christmas is so much fun and I'm so glad that I have the freedom to celebrate it now. I love everything about it - the lights & decorations , the parties, the parades, the food, buying gifts, the music. I'm like a big kid come Christmastime. Those poor JW's don't know what they're missing.

The thing that questions me is why wasn't ANY blood found on him at all?
And why none in his car?With todays forensic methods they can pick up on blood anywhere so how did he do it?
I did notice he was quite emphatic in stating that also.Since Kelle was a contractor he may have known about Tyvek suits. If he wore one of those and a pair of gloves it would have been very easy for him to dispose of the suit & have no blood splatter on his clothes. I imagine he was disposing of something like that or blood soaked clothes during the time that he wasn't answering his phone.
The fact that there was no blood on him at all raises major red flags for me. If you saw your loved one laying on the floor covered in blood wouldn't you touch them, turn them over, hold them, etc and as a result get some of their blood on you? I couldn't imagine not holding my husband if I found him in that condition. If his story was true, he would have had to step over her to get the baby and yet there was no blood on his shoes?
I found an article about Isabelle http://www.pe.com/localnews/murrieta/stories/PE_News_Local_E_jarka09.4969d49.html She sounds like a really sweet, funny & loving person. She definitely didn't deserve what happened to her. The article also mentions that the couple's infant son was found near her body. His crib was only a few feet away from where she was killed.

Did no one find the Jim Avila/JW connection interesting?
I was wondering if that was the reason for the failure to mention the elder who came over for "marital counselling" until 4am and then refused to testify. You'd think that would be significant enough to warrant a mention. Sounds to me like it was a "crime of passion". She may have threatened to divorce him and he flipped out. That would explain the 11 blows to her head. A burglar wouldn't need to hit her that many times.
