I put a tree up and everyone went berserk! I even caught a JW driving slowly past my house. I was labeled a "tool of Satan" and people I haven't spoken to years began shunning me. You would have thought I sacrificed a child to the devil!

The funny thing is, I haven't been to a meeting in over 12 years!!!! Not once have I been visited by an elder or any other JW in all that time. I thought I was in the clear.

the jensen letters is the name given to a series of letters between an elder in the united states and the watchtower society, over the period 1998 to 2003, and neatly illustrate the plight of thinking jehovah's witnesses trying to make sense of the society's blood policy.

they are remarkable in terms of both the incisive questions asked about critical aspects of the blood policy and the society's incompetent attempts at 'spin' and sidestepping awkward issues.

even more remarkably, they conclude with the writer's letter of resignation as an elder!

i have a friend that hasn't been to a meeting in over a year.

she recently got a divorce from her abusive jw spouse.

he beat her up and tore down a door in front of several people.

I have a friend that hasn't been to a meeting in over a year. She recently got a divorce from her abusive JW spouse. He beat her up and tore down a door in front of several people.

Now this jerk, whose name is Mike and lives in Las Vegas (I don't live there), decides that he wants to date but he can't because he's not scriptually free to marry. So he has started stirring up a bunch of crap trying to get his ex-wife in trouble with the elders. He is also spreading rumors that I gave my friend apostate literature (not true) and has gotten me shunned by some family members. I hate this guy.

Last week, the elders came to the door while she was in the shower. Her young son answered the door. He told them she couldn't come to the door. They pushed past the boy and forced there way inside!!! They told him that it was urgent that they speak to her and told him to go get his mother.

My friend comes out of the shower, wrapped in a towel and peers over the balcony and sees two elders standing in her foyer. She told them this wasn't a good time, that she had company coming and to please leave. They said - "but it's urgent we speak to you." She said "too bad, I don't have time, please leave". So they left.

First of all, I can not believe these guys forced their way into her house like that, I would have called the cops. Is this normal procedure for elders?

Secondly, her number is listed, why didn't they just call and try to schedule an appointment with her?

Thirdly, she had Christmas decorations up - is that a disfellowshipping offense?

Warning to all Las Vegas JW women - Stay away from this guy. He is an abuser, is lousy in bed and has a very small penis. His ex once complained that it was ridiculous that they were only having sex once every 2 weeks, his response was "I'm not a machine". They were newlyweds! He also can't keep a job and will expect you to bring home the bacon. If you see him, run away. You have been warned.

anyone here ever go on a cruise with a large group of JW's?

ive been on two cruises in the early 90's with large amounts of witnesses.

one cruise we had around 85 and the other 175. one night on the larger jw cruise there were 50 or so of us watching this comedian.

he started getting a little crude using words like penis so we all got up at the same time and walked out during his act.

In Florida cruising seems to be popular among JWs because we aren't far from the ports. In Maryland, the popular thing was to get a big group together to go skiing. It just depends on the area you live in.

I've never cruised with JWs but my in-laws have several times. They just do it for fun, just like any other vacation. But I'm sure they leave magazines for the maid and wouldn't hesitate to preach if the opportunity arose.

my friend was counseled for having a bad attitude because he wore white socks w/ his suit.

My husband was once counseled and not allowed to give a talk because his hair was TOO SHORT.

The ironic thing was that the elder who counseled him looked like a reject from the Beatles.

When i was a raw web virgin newbie i stumbled onto this site and for several months that it was a legit "authorized circuit overseers page"

I was confused at first too until I realized that http://www.dbhome.dk/carlo/ led to the elder's secret book.

The cat article is hilarious. When I first read it, I thought it had come from the Watchtower.

What is 'NIV' ?

I love the NIV. I have the NIV Life Application Study Bible. It's kind of like a bible with a mini Insight book incorporated into it. It's very informative.

If you have any questions about bible translations, http://www.biblegateway.com/ is a great site. It has 20 different versions in English and several versions in foreign languages.

I want to get the Message bible just for kicks. It's written in urban speak with I think is hilarious. For example:

Matthew4:10 Jesus' refusal was curt: "Beat it, Satan!"

Rev. 21:3 I heard a voice thunder from the Throne: "Look! Look! God has moved into the neighborhood,

I can't imagine anything more horrific than cruising with a bunch of witnesses.
