has anyone ever heard of the name 'taze' before?
the one and only person with this name i have ever heard of is charles taze russell.. is anyone familiar with it?
maybe there were some early bible students that named their offspring after him?.

Come to think of it, I have never known anyone to name their children after someone in the WT. Thank goodness my parents didn't.

with all i've been reading in the newspaper, i have yet to hear one mention of the a-10 warthog.
this plane is extremely manuverable, highly survivable with tripple redundant systems all thru the plane, and packs a major punch with its nose cannon which the plane was built around.
it would seem perfect for the small arms fighting going on right now.

I wish you luck Yoyo but not with being reinstated. I do read my bible every day, that is one of the main reasons why I left the WT. Try reading the whole bible, not just the assigned chosen few scriptures the WT tells you to read.
What I really wish for you, is that you prepare a letter of disassociation, then when, or if, they reinstate you, give them your letter. Tell them you have found out that they do not represent the true God, then seek that relationship with God that you desire.

organization celebrate any holidays without a problem?
or attend birthday parties and stuff like that without it bothering you?i know i dont have a problem with it.i dont celebrate any major holidays but thats because after so many years not doing it i would feel weird doing it now but i dont have a problem being invited to a gathering that has to do with any of the above.

The first year after I left the WT I was invited to a Christmas party. I didn't have a problem with it because I was convinced by then that everything I had been taught by the WT were lies. I started sending Christmas cards and birthday cards etc.
I enjoyed the holidays very much but never chose to put up a Christmas tree, until this past Christmas. My son left the WT about a year ago and he asked if we could put up a tree, so we did. We had a really wonderful Christmas. As time goes by I think you will enjoy the holidays more and more. Especially the Christmas music.

i got a virus (worm_badtrans.b) sent to me from < [email protected]> (which looks like a spoofed email addy); i was wondering whether anyone else had got it sent to them, or whether someone was selecting me specially (awwww, how sweet), as it was sent to my [email protected] address which i use almost exclusively here.. ah, the joys of automatically updated virus scanners.... .

I have gotten several viruses over the past few weeks, but as far as I know my anti-virus has caught them all. The latest was last week.

as you may or may not know, the bush administration has set up a shadow government in the usa, with its memebers already securely located in underground bunkers and now we are learning that washington dc is being surrounded radiation and gamma ray detectors which would tip off the delta forces on standby that a nuclear weapon had been brought into the area.
the government concedes that they do expect a possible nuclear strike by terrorists.. while it may not come from ben ladin, there are other countries who appear to have made more progress in securing nuclear weapons by either buying them illegally or making their own.
the really bad news is that they also have much more of an incentive now to use them against the usa as our government has launched a war against their countries (i.e.

It seems that a nuke attack is a real possibility. I think there would be a counter-strike with nukes, if the US could determine that a country was harboring the terrorists who were responsible for such an attack. In any case the world would be in for some really bad times.
Just wondering, (I am sure it has already been a topic here before, but I didn't see it) is it possible that NY could fit the bible description of babylon the great? and that the smoke rising from "her" could be a nuclear attack on NY?

i refused to learn the books of the bible or to remember scriptures!!!
even when i was a genuine, super-zelous ms!!.
When I was in my early teens, and preteens, I was forced to "study" the Watchtower, by myself. Those of you old enough will remember those Big Watchtowers, without pictures and certainly not written for kids. So I developed a method of studying to get through them faster. I would look for words in the paragraph that were also in the questions and underline them. It worked most of the time.
I told two young pioneers that story when I was in my twenties and they said they used that method even then.

this one is for those on this board that continue to read the bible.
i know there are many on here that dont.
i still do, though not very often, and i dont accept everything written as straight from the mouth of god.. one thing i discovered after leaving the witnesses was that the bible is actually an interesting document and not some terribly difficult tome that must be explained every step of the way.

I have several and I like them all for different purposes. The one I probably like best for home use, to get several choices of meanings for words, is the Amplified Bible.
The one I like to take with me, to church etc. is the NIV. It is widely used and I can get all sorts of software etc. for it. Some churches of course, use only the KJV.
