i could spend many of your minutes describing how helpful this forum has been for me, suffice it to say that it's the way things should be...offer an idea and everybody else have opportunity to put it on the table too, pro or con.

my opinion is that jw's haven't realized (or have been denied) the benefits of such an appropriate arrangement that also provides the best method for discovery and growth.. my offering today is prompted by what i've found to be a recurring theme here...one that never fails to bother me.

as many witnesses "get out", too often (for me) they along with now rejecting the wts, reject many of the good things the wts tried, however horribly, to represent.

Anyone else where I am today?

I have been there. I have been out now for about 11years. I enjoy reading the bible all the way through each year. Radio Bible Class (RBC) has a booklet they will send you each month, it has a daily scriptural comment (something like daily text) and gives the scriptures to read each day to complete the bible in a year. This year I am using a bible my son gave me for Christmas, it has the sections for each day of the year.

I was very blessed in going to an ex-jw convention when I left the WT. I met a lot of wonderful ex-jws. I go to two or three conventions each year and always look forward to seeing those I consider real brothers and sisters.

I go to church sometimes, but do not feel God is angry with me if I do not go.

i just came across this site, and i was wondering if there is a location on this site where one would go to chat with or just correspond with other x witness, or do i just do as i am now, start typing and hope someone will answer?

i will wait to hear from someone before i go and say too much.

Do you claim to be one of the anointed? I think someone already asked that one.

If you do, where is your loyalty? to an organization? or to The Lord, Jesus Christ?

 1st grade level in understanding your organization. 
		Here you will get, about a college level, education on the WT.

my father has told me that if i can disprove the bible on any point he will discontinue beliveing in it.. i will be the first to admit that bible theology is not my strong point so i need any help that i can get.. thanks in advance

Here is one explanation of that scripture:

Verse 23. And he made a molten sea ,.... A large vessel made of molten brass, which, because of the great quantity of water it held, is called a sea; as it was usual with the Jews to call a large collection of waters a sea, as the sea of Tiberius and Galilee. This was made by the man of Tyre, as the pillars, by the order of Solomon, and answered to the brasen laver in the tabernacle, only larger than that; and was not only for the priests to wash their hands and feet in, but to dip upon occasion, and by the Jews {p} is expressly said to be a dipping place for the priests, see 2 Chronicles 4:6,

ten cubits from the one brim to the other : which was the diameter of it: it was round all about; spherical or circular; not as an hemisphere, as Josephus {q}, and Procopius Gazaeus, but rather cylindrical:

and his height was five cubits ; from the bottom of it, not including the pedestal of oxen on which it stood:

and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about ; this was the circumference of it; which answers to the diameter of ten cubits, or near it, a round number being given not strictly mathematical.

(Sceptics have ridiculed the Bible for saying that the mathematical constant p is 3 instead of the more precise 3.14159. (This number is an "irrational number" and needs an infinite number digits to specify it exactly.) Two explanations for the apparent lack of precision in the measurement are given.

1) The circumference given may be for the inside circumference and the diameter may be the diameter including the thickness of the rim. This would yield a very accurate mathematical result for the inside circumference of thirty cubits. The outside circumference would be about 31.4 cubits giving a rim thickness of four inches or an hand breadth agreeing with 1 Kings 7:26.

2) In 1 Kings 7:26 we read the vessel "was wrought like the brim of a cup." That is the brim on the top of the vessel was wider than the main part of the vessel. The diameter would be given for the brim. If the brim or lip extended about four inches past the main body of the vessel then the outside circumference of the main part of the vessel would be exactly thirty cubits.

In each case the mathematical ratio for circumference of the circle is p d, where "d" is the diameter and p is the number 3.14159 ..... For a more complete discussion on this see the article by Russel Grigg. {r}. Editor.)

in case anyone is wondering about our registration policy:.

i don't intend to turn people away who want to register and post or make ultra-strict registration procedures because i honestly don't think that they work.

if i were to ask for names of congregations or presiding overseers then i have no real way of checking if they are correct.

WHY does God fail to...

...attain unanimous support from his creation of free moral agents?

from the majority at least.. apparently according to the wt interpretation of god's own book...a prominent spirit creature who made himself satan became unsatisfied and left god.later untold numbers would join the devil.. now the only solution for the future of these 'rebels' would be for god to destroy them.. then the very first human creatures apparently also felt unsatisfied and withdrew from god.they got destroyed.. later god had to confuse the language of all humans because they were unanimously opposed to god.

those people too are history.. then god had an ark built because all flesh had left god's way except for a handful of people.. evidently god was not expecting any great number to actually join noah, otherwise god would have had noah build several arks!

the US was interested in the oil resources of sOmalia!

I don't know about that, I didn't know there was oil in Somalia. We supposedly went there to help starving people, using our military for a sort of meals-on- wheels program. Somalia was, and is, I think, a very poor country, other than the war lords. If we were after oil, don't you think we would have given it a little more effort?

But, my point was, the way our service men were treated. How can we ever forget the pictures of our men being dragged behind a truck through the streets. I personally think we should have attacked, in force, and terminated the whole group responsible for that atrocity.

You may be right about the oil, but it just does not add up to me. I think we would have used a little better strategy than what was shown, if we were going after something we wanted that bad. Some people are saying we are only going after Iraq because of oil, why would we use the tremendous power about to be used in Iraq, but, go into Somalia with such a small effort?

Actually, some people think the USA is incapable of doing anything at all, unless there is some kind of a payoff for the US, or, more accurately, a payoff for Republicans. Democrats can bomb empty buildings, aspirin factories, or anything else, and their motives are thought to be pure, by those same people, who are condemning the Republican President.

They Did Me a Big Favor by DFing Me

even though i'd accumulated 20 years of doubts and disappointments, i fought my last dfing tooth-and-nail.

if they hadn't dfd me, i'd still be "in" mentally and psychologically.

heck, i was still "in" for another year and a half after, even though i thought i was out.
