hi guys and gals....... .
i would just like to extend greetings to all those poor souls who had to endure the torturous childhood of growing up in a strict jw lifestyle as i had.
i didn't know that there were such forums on the net, and i was made aware of this by my sister who is also a member here, i believe.. i find this kind of funny really.
Welcome to the Board! Yes, the Dubs are living in their own world, its really, really sad.
do you guys know any very obviously crazy jw's?
i've noticed that they have been "flocking" to the org.
over the past few years especially.
There was this one guy, he wasn't crazy (as far as I know), but he looked like death itself. Seriously. Always wore a trenchcoat, had wiry silver hair, and a face that looked like someone who has been rotting in the grave. Really creepy.
i found an oxford bible at a thrift store that included one or two extra books.
i dont recall the names.
can someone please give me some information on this subject?
It includes the Apocrypha?books from OT times not recognized as part of the canon of scripture by most:
I hate to tell you hmike, but Protestants aren't the centre of the universe, I believe 1 billion Catholics and most other Christians before the Reformation had these books in their bible.
The Catholic Canon includes: Tobit, Judith, Greek parts of Esther, Wisdom, Ecclesiasticus, Baruch, Greek parts of the Book of Daniel, 1&2 Maccabees.
In the Greek and Slavonic Bibles (plus those in the Catholic canon): 1 Esdras, Prayer of Manasseh, Psalm 151, and 3 Maccabees.
In the Slavonic Bible: 2 Esdras
In an appendix to the Greek Bible: 4 Maccabees.
It's interesting to note that Luther, besides rejecting the "apocrypha," also rejected some NT books such as James (and I think Revelations).

There's always more money, I doubt that 3500$ is going to make much of a difference anywhere.
We can always do more for health care, education, policing, poor people, and for disabilities, but it will never be enough since we can't please everyone.
hi i am a newbie!!
i dont want to put a big post about my life here just yet, because, well, its just not that interesting!
i am here to learn, meet new people and find a bit about myself.
Welcome!
PS. Good use of English grammar, unlike most, you recognize that the second person plural is simply "you" and not "y'all" or
"you all."
i nominate simon green - the owner of this board!
I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

a simple tooth extraction has led to this.
it was an upper tooth that was root canaled.
canal went bad and i had it pulled out in about six pieces.
Good luck. I remember getting my wisdom teeth removed, it took an hour and I was under general anaesthetic and woke up dazed and confused. Be sure to have one person to be with you post-op and another one available to pick up things like drugs or guaze (I say two people b/c after my wisdom teeth were removed, my mum went out to get the prescription painkillers, meanwhile blood is gushing out and the pain was starting in force, kind of scary when you are confused). Of course, my case was unusual, especially since I had more teeth than the average human (they found an extra tooth when they opened up, and removed it).

1. no search warrant can be issued with regards to documents that are known to be protected by solicitor-client privilege.
(3) as to the issue of whether documents are "known" to be protected by solicitor-client privilege, there is now a presumption that lawyer's bills of account are prima facie privileged.
Sorry, I didn't mean to dispute his statements, but I know of the above scenario happening also. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

It probably works more like this: Victim goes forward to elders, elders bring JC. If two witnesses or two victims, he is disfellowhsiped and the info. in NOT forwarded to police. If there aren't two victims or witnesses, nothing happens and the JW victim will likely not go over the elders heads.
