And I suppose being called "elder" doesn't make anybody feel special...
Good one! My Mom does not like the term "special pioneer" for the same reason--she wonders why there are any titles--makes a simple publisher feel like nothing!
back when i was a boy in the 1950s many men wore hats and so did my father.. one evening at the kh he was called in to the backroom by the elders for a 'meeting after the meeting',.
his crime?
he had been seen raising his hat when greeting women!!!!.

It is not good to flatter people, to turn their head; it is to their harm. Specifically, why would a woman want this special show of respect from a man? One woman said in response to this question: "You don’t know how important it makes a woman feel to have a man tip his hat to her." That is sufficient reason for Christians to refrain from the custom. It is not in the interests of the individual to make him feel important, whether the individual is male or female.
Well, no wonder many of us have no self-esteem! Heaven forbid that anyone feel special.

Your mother is sick and twisted.......she must be related to my grandmother--not a witness--but said similarly cruel things to my mom who had been molested by her stepfather.
my mother stated in court "my good man (to the judge mind you) my daughter was molested by my husband but she was old enough, she was over 12."
Was this in reference to you! So, you were old enough to be molested! Where the hell did your mother get that idea from?
while lurking, fading, or like me, a disgruntled dud who wishes to remain anonymous, found out that a fellow poster was a relative, friend, or just someone you knew?
i found out about one when i first registered and eventually revealed myself because i trust this person.
i just found another one that i dont trust at all!
Yes! I know a few people on this board.
what sends shivers down your spine like the good ole "nails on a chaulkboard"?
things people do, say or don't do or say.
basically what really pisses you off.. df.
People who can't spell PEEVE! Sorry, but I could not resist correcting you.........
what was the absolute worst pt you had to sit thru?.
i was thinking that for me the worst outline is "get a firm hold on the real life".
yes a life constricted by endless and ever changing rules, burdened by guilt, fear and obligation, and all the while hoping for an empty promise has got to be the "real life"
I remember a wedding talk where the brother was totally not prepared. He said the wrong names--and made a lot of jokes about his mistakes. It was terrible.

this is a news story about a molester who is a witness.
what shocks me is the attitude of the rest of the congregation.
How many people forgive a dog that attacks a child? Usually the dog is put to sleep!
We can forgive--just DON"T FORGET!
someone pretending they never liked or listened to ice ice baby
Is this like my generation pretending we don't like the Bee Gees?
well, it's memorial season and mom has been giving me the "look" this past week ever since she has decided to pioneer for february and march.
anyways, the thing is i plan on buying a new car in the next couple months.
well, i know how my mom operates.
Just keep going to school and one day you will be able to support yourself. You don't want to end up in your forties, married to an idiot, and no education to fall back on!
