since the society has told the elders that they are basically on their own, why don't we give more thought to suing the elders-----not just the watchtower society?.
when i was an elder ii was very concerned that i might get sued and be liable in a lawsuit.
it was one of the reasons i didn't want to be an elder..
I was very concerned about that when I was an elder. I can think of several senarios where an elder could be potentially at risk. I got into the habit of not giving my personal opinion on anything. If someone wanted to know what the WTS take on a particular issue was, I'd research and give the printout to the person.
If most elders felt this way, then there was no reason to ever go to them for advice!

My son has grown a short beard with no moustache--I like it and don't even think of it as being out of place.
i regret to inform, all of you that i will no longer be a member of this board, ive thought about it a long time and to hard decision that after many hours of praying i will be returning to the society.
i know its the only way i can confront the problem that i am currently faced with, i am sure all of you at one time thought about it too, i am however weak, i know that going back will only delay matters and keep this horrible secret of mine, but its the only way i know how i can deal with it.

i'm not sure i ever really posted my story.
i think i've given bit's and pieces on others threads but not the whole thing on my own thread.

in the 70's and 80's i recall conversations with some fellow jdubs who had lived in the southern us.
they told me that some areas still had segregated halls - blacks would meet at different times or locations than whites.
is this still true, anyone know?
I attended a congregation in Florida back in the 70's. The KH was in a residential neighborhood and I remember being told that the people who lived aroung the KH would be very upset and cause trouble if they saw black brothers and sisters coming to our meetings.
i know there are some about, but i just can't find them at the moment.
