Well, laptop heat is not the result of the Wifi connection. The heat is from the laptop itself and all the internal components. So I wouldn't worry about the wifi connection, instead worry about heat in general from your laptop. Depending on what type of laptop the hotter it can get. My laptop will get pretty hot after a couple of hours, no way I can put it in my lap after that.

Guys, do you lay your wifi laptop on your lap?
by Elsewhere inone of the things i enjoy most about wifi is the way i can sit in my favorite living room recliner and surf the web while watching spongbob.
i was just sitting here browsing around the web when it suddenly occurred to me: am i microwaving my "boys"?
has anyone heard if there is are, ahem, "manly" dangers to using a laptop on the lap?

Depends where at. When I was in Puerto Rico it was 100% puerto ricans, lol. When I was in Gary, it was mostly blacks and whites with some hispanics members. When I went to Mexico it was 100% mexicans.

Die hard jw's see any problem with Sept km?
by carla inwill die hard jw's see any control issues with the sept km?
i once brought up the fact to my jw that jw's were not allowed to get together informally to do any kind of 'bible' studies without the approval of the elders, gb, etc.. he said that was totally ridiculous and false, more apostate lies.
this was long ago now and i'm not sure he even remembers saying it.

This article won't be a big deal like we envision it to be. I agree with Steve2, this is nothing new, it is just being re-said. Never was looked in good light for someone to be studying the bible by themselves. Most dubs will agree with this article 100% and the rest won't even care. I brought up this article with my mother(still in the borg) and she doesn't see anything wrong with it. Then I talked to an old friend also in, same thing, no big deal to them. No way to reason with someone who takes everything they write as the truth.

jw's bought a restaurant here
by orbison11 ina jw's couple bought a restaurant , relatively nice one too, here in town.
so i am doing my part in spreading the good news about how my son, a member of their church, had his assembly here in my town 3 weekends ago and was not allowed to talk to me due to my no longer beign a jw (and my shop is 2 blocks from the arena they had their assembly in).
i have not spoken with him in 8 years.

So greendawn you have never heard of jw's owning restaurants? I've heard of some back when I was in. There was a couple who owned their own restaurants and there was one in particular that owned a couple of McDonald's franchises in 2 different towns.

Maybe back in the day JW's would be surprised by this, but not anymore. I know lots of jw's who own stocks and funds on company's that either deal with military, alcohol or tobacco.

How could I have been so naive and gullible!?
by Mincan ini find out that the "sweetest" girl in the congregation is one of the biggest sluts in town!
she was into me, and here i thought she was sincere in the truth and i never made a move, because i was honourable.. i was so lock, stock, and barrel in this cult, so sincere, it makes me sick.
i didn't realise how two-faced and fake everyone in it was until i left and now all the people out are hanging out with the people in!.

How ironic that someone who is living a double life is calling someone else two faced and a 'slut'.

Another 'Letter to the Editor' published.... hoorah!
by AK - Jeff inthey ran it precisely as written [i believe, though i have not checked it word for word].
in seeker4's original thread he suggested that the catholic settlements could be used as basis for such a letter;.

Nice article, too bad it will not reach its target audience. Just viewing the reader comments makes this loose its credibility. You can tell that almost 90% of those who responded are ex-jw with an axe to grind and are bitter. I mean there is even a response from someone that is even longer than the main article! When you get an article like this to a well known news site and with out the maniac responses from bitter ex-jw's then more people would read it. Right now it just looks as a joke, not the article, just the comments. It makes it seem that all that ex-jw's do is search for stuff like this to write their views down (which is what some actually do).

So basically you left and want to change peoples minds. I think that your e-mail while well written its just a waste of time. We've already seen responses here from the one response you got of "please don't contact me again." Its the same way with them you left good for you, now enjoy your freedom and stop trying to convert people who don't want to convert, which is what supposedly we have all left them in the first place.

So you expect for them to go up to and start talking to you just because you said hi? lol, you are a moron. Why would they want to talk to you in the first place? Just because you say hi and wave it doesn't they are going to start talking to you. I wouldn't either if I would find you somewhere and you would just wave. I would wave back but that's it.
