Skipper,
I suffered from terrible depression and a dreadful outlook while in the org. When I got out, I felt displaced, to be sure, but look at it like being an excited immigrant to a new country--one which I love to explore and find ways to make my home.
Just a few suggestions, maybe they'll work, maybe not:
-learning new things (I know you've been to college, but take something outrageous like, interpretive dance)
-exercise
-meditation
Good luck, my friend,
Love,
B.

Been outta a hell of a long time and still bummed
by Mindchild insometimes i do a lot of thinking.. yeah, i know that is dangerous.
regardless, at times it seems that even though ive been out of the borg for a little over two decades now, gone through expensive therapy, had a long term relationship once with another ex-dub and spent 8 years in college, i still find my personal thinking effected in some negative ways by my being raised a jw.. for instance, i have a really difficult, if not impossible time, ever finding a community where i feel i belong.
ive lived everywhere from san francisco to cocoa beach on the opposite coast and no matter where i live, i feel like im an alien from another culture.

Exactly my thoughts, Patio34. Their so-called great interest in "distributing humanitarian help" constitutes mainly of hawking their silly magazines, and recruiting more converts: "here you go, starving little war-shocked individuals, read two of these magazines and see us in the morning--oh, and we might throw in a little food, if we see you making adequate progress--but don't get too dependant upon it--once you're "in" and we can count you on our rosters, YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN!! and will then be expected to bring in more converts to distribute more magazines....and round and round we go--widows and orphans need not apply, we have far too many of those pesky things around as it is."
I am actually disappointed that they withdrew their association with the UN, because I saw it as a sign of lessening fanaticism. I thought that the UN should be alerted to their "feelings" regarding the UN as reflected by their inane rhetoric, however, I honestly thought that PR saavy would rule the day and Brooklyn would acquiesce, and perhaps become a useful little religious corporation. I actually hoped that shunning might be eliminated once enought public attention was drawn to them.
*sigh*

I had heard on another DB that they were being encouraged to represent themselves as "grief counselors" in the witnessing work. If this is true (and I wouldn't put it past them) I believe that would be fraud. That's so vulture like.
Oh well, I'm sure the propogandist/urban legend mill will be going full throttle spewing out garbage. I remember a similar urban legend about George Bush senior putting a live forever book in the white house library. Oh well, political heads are used to being "used" for promoting things (like, We're not saying you should drink caffeine free pepsi, but a friend of mine's cousin saw George W. drinking a caffeine free Pepsi--if it's good enough for the president....) . But I would think a group that hates the wild beast and the harlot who rides the wild beast SOOOOO much would want to steer clear of political endorsements.
Oh, yea, I remember, it's only harlotry when a group who's not JW's does it. When JW's do it, it's okay. vomitous.B.

Riz,
I am highly offended! NOT!!! OMG, that is TOOOO funny!! LOL!! A friend of mine had e-mailed me that a long time ago, and I had lost it, so thanks!
Hey, does anybody have that zodiac for southerners? That one's funny, too. Not quite as funny as this one, but funny in a cute sort of way. If anybody has it, can you post it, too?
Thanks!
B.
p.s. So, Riz er, uhh, what's your sign? -

Somebody said: "I'm a Pisces.
And I want me a Scorpio...bad. "Rem said: "I'm a Scorpio (11/8/75). I'm an INTJ also, so from what little I've read, much of the Scorpio profile seems to fit my personality quite well. LOL"
hmmmmmm.......just thinking outloud, here......could we have a love match? Although, I'd be careful--I'm not exactly sure what "INTJ" stands for--can anyone enlighten me?---REM?!?!? Care to share with the class? Two water signs are usually always well suited. And Scorpio could definitely keep you satisfied (in theory).
oh, and to answer your question, about any sign a pisces shouldn't get involved with. This is my two cents: don't limit yourself. Astrology is for fun. I never use astrology to make my decisions or limit myself. Use your intuition and intellect to navigate your waters. I would steer clear of people who are very dominant, because we (pisces) are too easily given to abuse. But then, I'd give that advice to anybody--male, female, etc. Good luck, Somebody!

Lesley,
Let me extend my welcome too! I feel honored that you responded to my post. We can be very serious here, but then, we have a lighter side, too, as reflected in my game. Let me just say: allegedly, there is no better mate for a Pisces female than a Cancer male (although I love my Aquarian). So, ya done good. My dad's a Cancer--they're really great people--can be sensative, and crabby, but for the most part, loving, nurturing, etc. Sometimes they just have to hole up in their little shells and sulk, but then, we pisces respect that, because sometimes we need our "downtime" where we swim to deep waters and "reflect".
Anyway--WELCOME!! Hope you post more!
Love,

Mr. Moe,
Hey, you're my inverted twin! I'm a sun pisces and my moon is in Aqaurius. It IS an interesting combo, no? I have that ethereal, spiritual side, with an innervoice that demands evidence of anything.
And you're definitely on the money, that one can find anything in any one sign that would make the "truth" unbearable to them. I was thinking about this last night. It's because that cultish lifestyle goes against human nature, period. No matter what your personality is.
I appear to only have gotten response from two caps? I think a Capricorn would be suited to being in the org ONLY if they could make a decent living, or came "in" after college. Capricorns are far too ambitious. However, a C.O. or D.O. Cap would make a good witness. They like the status quo. They like the rules. And the God Saturn likes people to "tow the line", but He rewards hard work. hmmmmm...
thanks!
B.
p.s. Tina, YOU'RE A GEM???? Wow! I would've thought Virgo. You appear to be analytical, intelligent, but then again, you're not really obsessed with "how things work" Hmmmmm....my astrological skills are very rusty. Well, at least I feel like I know everyone a little better now. One gets the illusion in cyberspace that one knows people, but it takes real human contact, to really get to know someone, methinks--astrology aside.
