If you have been shunned, etc. just keep in mind that the 'spritual feeding program' they are on causes them to follow the example of their 'Great Architect" and "Communicator". I always try to remember what the Bible teaches about our relationships with our fellow man and then pray for them because they don't know what they are doing to themselves.

by chuckyy ini went to take my daughter to school today and right at the end of her line was a jw with her child.
seeing as i had to take my child to her line, i had to stand very close to her.
i seen her out of the corner of my eye looking at me.

by Blue_Shadow ini dont know how i came across this forum but when i came to it i was so shocked of all the things being mentioned about the org.
i became doubtful of the recent decision i had made ( the big dip, which i kinda felt pressure to do but that's another story) also hearing about how jw are a cult really opened my interest.
so now that im openly informed ,im out in search of the truth behind the truth.

There are a lot of nice people here who are very enthusiastic about the Borg and its religious freedoms.
Just make sure you don't say too much to the 'spiritually mature ones' in the cong until you're ready to fade or DA. or you'll find out how compassionate and kind the elders really are. Don't put anything in writing. Get a great attorney who ain't afraid of being intimidated.

How many "ascended the mountain", and didn't see "the light"?
by upside/down ini'm talking about the jw dream of visiting mecca bethel!
i had heard the stories of "the friends" who came back from bethel ("ascended the mountain") and they came back with their faces beaming.
it was so great, that they could talk almost endlessly about it and the entire experience seemed to be so "spiritual".

who can you trust when talking about organizational questions?

I met my ex-wife the very day I was baptised. I trusted everything the Society said and had privileges out the yang-yang until I started reading the Bible (Not the New World Order Translation) on my own and comparing the scriptures to what was being said as truth. I'm out on my own choice but would have been in front of a Judicial Committee (check the scriptures to see just how the Jews held judicial matters and then compare) for causing dissension on account of the UN and the RAND ENGINE stock if I had not made the first move, well actually the WTBTS made the first move by disassociating itself from God and Jesus with their UN involvement. I will never go back no matter what. Nosferatu has it right except that God needs to dropped 2 levels down and Jesus ain't even in the picture except when they feel like mentioning him at the end of a prayer. Tell them you are praying to Jesus and see how fast they run from you.
They hate most of us here even though we still love them in principle. They are so afraid of sites like this that they sic their thug lawyers on them to try to shut us up. However, the truth shall prevail and all things will brought to light but not their New Light which is really a blinking light Yes, you can one day No, you can't the next and back and forth just to see how many will follow them to their own demise.
But you should make your own decision. Especially don't listen to me because I'm more vocal than most here.

Do you really hate JWs?..... or is it the WT??

i don't think you can seperate the 2. they are both inseperably joined, infact the wt defines how jws believe.
many here say they don't "hate" jws individually, just the society, ie the wt.. where in your personal opinion is the distinction drawn??

I don't hate either one. As a matter of fact I really have love for my JW friends. Especially the ones that feel hatred toward me because I'm an apostate. It does tear me up inside that their faith is in an organisation with, what I sincerely think with all my being, very unscriptural practices such as faith in the org instead of faith in Jesus, offering up their children at will on the altar of the Watchtower to die when the scriptures plainly state that God is the Live-giver and the Life-taker, not us or any religion, flip-flopping back and forth on doctrine and calling it "New Light" (more like a blinking light or better yet NO LIGHT).
As for the WTBTS, that is another matter altogether. Armageddon may arrive for it sooner than they think.

this is not something i discourage or dislike.
i believe encouraging debate on important issues is almost frowned on in western culture, and i genuinely enjoy the chance to discuss and learn.

I'm new here too. I wish I could've said that before I became a dub. This place is an eye-opener.
Jesus was right when he said he came to bring a sword and not peace... I'd elaborate more on that but your hair would stand up on its own for a week or two and you'd have to see the whole staff at your local Mental Health Institute for the rest of your life because they'd be too busy consoling each other until your next appointment.If you weren't passed around like a football one or two of them would commit suicide because they'd start feeling too much of your pain to 'keep enduring until the end.'.
After almost 15 years of 'Special Service and Privileges' not to mention hundreds of visits to the funny farm so that I could keep up the charade of being fed the rich spiritual delights from the 'faithful and discreet (NOT) slave I could, as well as most here, keep you either entertained or disgusted (depending on how mobid your tastes are) until you couldn't take it anymore.
Grab a chair and sit a spell.. oops I hope an active dub ain't monitoring, those trances they go into at the meetings whenever the organisation is mentioned give me the willies.

After my wife split with the kids because I read my Bible instead of the literature they left me alone for a couple of months... then the harrasment started.
One of them would call and ask how I was doing and then say that they missed me, was I OK, did I need anything and when I said no they would invite themselves over. After about 5 minutes of "good ta see you, again" they'd get right down to business.
"Your estranged wife says you drink all the time."
"Yes, I do. Would you like some? I'm afraid its the Kroger brand. I can't afford Perrier. BTW, where is my wife? I haven't seen my kids in 6 months?"
"Uhhh... we don't exactly know where she is (translated- we haven't seen or talked with her today)."
The next time it would be over how I yelled at the neighborhood kids 2 years ago and she was just getting around to telling them.
The best one was when they called and I said I wasn't feeling well. Started to hang up and they informed me that 2 members of the cong had seen me leaving a fast food resturant the day before with a young woman who wasn't my wife. I asked what kind of car did we get into and they said separate cars.When I told them it was one of my mental health support therapists and that we had coffee before my therapy session they backed off. Never did answer why the 2 members didn't just ask me if they were that nosy about who it was. I guess the 2 members forgot to read MT 5:23 before they went runnin' to the bros with some dirty laundry. They'd have really freaked out if they knew her boyfriend is a baptist preacher. The poor girl's parents are a lot younger than me. I guess it was the pedophile in them that wanted to know.
The best thing I ever did was put them on the carpet about the UN deal and watched them squirm under pressure. Especially after the 'thorough witness' complete with all kinds of scriptural evidence from WT's Elder's manual, etc. and then asked them to justify the apostasy from the org. They couldn't wait to make the annoucement that I DA'd myself but they forgot to mention one little thing... that the org had already DA'd itself before I DA'd from it.
They will not leave you alone unless you make a stand for the real troof and then they twist it as bad as they twist the scriptures if anyone asks why you left. You can't leave quietly unless you move far, far away to another galaxy.

singing at the meetings

that always used to make me laugh when somone who couldn't sing just belted it out in their horrible voice.
or i used to love the husband and wife duos that thought they were all that as they sat and tried to harmonize.

Just got back from the 2004-2005 circuit assembly here are a few thoughts.
by PaNiCAtTaCk inupon arriving i ran into lots of old friends and really enjoyed seeing everyone and visiting.
they dont know that im currently struggling with doubts about the organization and they think that im the same old zealous brother.
i couldnt help but feel a sence of guilt visiting with them about our current number of publishers and how many we had pioneering ect.

I was a JW minister with 'extended priveleges' for 14 years. Never questioned anything... until the "NEW LIGHT" about the separation of the Sheep and Goats portrayed in Matthew 25th Chapter. Then, I just had to find out why Goats are stubborn and Sheep are meek and teachable.
Guess what... both animals are stubborn. The difference is a sheep will only respond to its master's voice and will only eat what it's master feeds it. Goats don't care where they get their food from. I have friends who have goats and they are as loyal to me as they are to their masters. Whoever calls first gets their attention. They will eat chicken feed, cat food, dog food, bread... it don't matter to them.
When I discovered the almost 10 year affiliation with the United Nations I called the U.N. and boy did I get a different story than Brooklyn Bethel published. Then I found out about the stock they own in RAND ENERGY/REGI US. The local BOE (they didn't even know anything about it until we all called Brooklyn)nor Brooklyn Bethel could refute that by associating with the UN the WTBTS had committed apostasy against God and his Son.
I then started reading different Bible translations with no Watchtower assistance. According to 1 Corinthians 11:3 Jesus is my head not the WTBTS. Hebrews 1:6; Matthew 2:2, 2:8, 2:11, 14:33, 28:9, 28:17; Luke 24:52; John 9:38 says Jesus was worshipped.
I then prayed to Jesus and begged him to forgive me for alienating myself from his love by my idolatrous worship of the WTBTS and then asked him to pour the Holy Spirit out upon me.
The WTBTS urges its followers to put faith in the organisation and not in Jesus. (See the front cover of the March 1, 1979 Watchtower).
That evening I called 2 of the elders who had no answers for the UN or RAND ENERGY deals the WTBTS made and left the same way I came in ( verbal affirmation). I severed ties with the WTBTS but not God, his Son or the real congregation (those who put their faith in Jesus).
Now I am discovering the glorious freedom of the children of God.
In the WTBTS demonic eyes one can leave the organisation only by dying, either physically or spiritually.
When Jesus executes his righteous vengeance on that 'disgusting thing' that causes desolation standing in a place where it should not be by placing itself between men and God the whole world will know that he is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and He and only He should be worshipped and venerated.
Now is the time for all JW's with honest hearts to repudiate the WTBTS's false claims as the Faithful and Discreet Slave and to flee to the mountains of refuge by putting their faith and allegiance in the One who God has designated, Jesus Christ.
