MGD, of course.
Bud reminds me too much of the meetings... always left me with a migraine.
seeing as it's friday i thought i would ask a drinking question, which of these 2 would you go for or if not these what else??.
an ice cold mgd (miller genuine draft) or a chilled bud?.
well i would choose an mgd.
MGD, of course.
Bud reminds me too much of the meetings... always left me with a migraine.
friday february 18 i arrived in orlando for a tony robbins event: "unleash the power within".
i went to cleanse the mind of anything unwanted, ... and to replace with strong, powerful, positive direction.
by sunday at 7pm.
You cut the chains of opression and tyranny loose with that post.
Welcome to the real world!!
It gets better and better and better and better and better and better and better and......
Yeah.. my parents introduced me to the cult mentality at 5 years old when they joined the H.W.Armstrong/WWCof G. Went right from that one into the JW/WTBTS cult without blinking an eye for almost 15 years. You would have figured I had better sense than to jump out of the frying pan into the fire.
my copy came in and i picked it up today.
i have a friend that i met online.....about 5 years ago.
at the time he was an elder and i was a struggling sister.
page 41 and still going!!!!
" Houston, we have reached apogee."
as you can see afin, from soj's thread started today, your pompous attitude is not going to get you anywhere here.
obviously we had an effect on soj and we will eventually have the same effect on you.
i for one don't like your preachiness or holier than thou attitude.
So if you don't want to become one of us terrible apostates, I think you better hightail it out of here while you still have your jw mindset in tact.
It's just a matter of time before AFIN tells the local elders the truth about the truth
after reading alanf?s biography
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/9/86609/1.ashx
something was niggling at me.
Do you believe the Governing Body is the Faithful Discreet Slave?
Oh... that's not an apostate question. It's the loyalty question to determine if you are apostate. Sorry.
when a witness starts thinking, there comes a time when decisions have to be made.
when you know that their bible chronolgy is unsupported or that the revelation climax book is absurd, it begins the process of 'what are you going to do now?
'......what could get you motivated is the realization that "love" is not the hallmark of this organization.
I wanted to just fade away into oblivion and that would have been it for me and the borg, but.... the borg just couldn't let a 'zealous for the truth' brother get discouraged alone so they had to send the elders and even the CO's around to encourage me with 'upbuilding' spiritual conversation which I really didn't want or appreciate by then even though I was very nice because these were my friends especially one CO that had a lot of the same interests and hobbies. Then, when all the pieces of the puzzle fell in place it was either get out fast or live the lie and die inside. Being honest with myself and realising most of all that I, no matter the cost, want to serve God and worship Christ helped me make the decision.
raising good kids these days is a difficult task.
jehovah's witnesses, however, are .
encountering wide spread defeat in this critical mission, in large measure, because of the.
They'll self destruct on account of all you have described. And that's what inevitably happens to an organisation that does not have the love of Christ in it. When you add in the unyielding and unscriptural stand the Governing Body aspires to the ingredients for disaster are just waiting for the right tempature to implode like a falling cake.
I'm sorry if I have offended anyone. I should have emphasised the historical written evidence regarding Christ, who he is and what he stands for. Oh well... to each his own.
after leaving jw, being a former regular pioneer for many years, i wanted to still help others is a meaningful way.
this year i am raising money for the leukemia & lymphoma society.
i am training to run a marathon, 26.2 miles as part of my fund raising.
Why did Jesus extend charity and help to others who were suffering? Aren't christians supposed to follow His example of feeding the poor and assisting the physically and mentally ill?
Scriptures are great if you apply all of them in your life. However, compassion, mercy and kindness go a lot further than bombarding people with scriptures all the time. Notice that Jesus very seldom referred to scriptures when He was feeding and healing people. His lifestyle showed how He really felt about others, even the false religious leaders were extended sympathy and concern for their well being by Him.
Ask them what the Greek phrase, ta ethne', that Jesus used when he told His disciples to preach to all the nations means and why are the JW's so quiet about their activity in Saudi Arabia, The Sudan, Ethiopia, Iraq, Iran, and other non christian lands when other christian denominations are very vocal in these places?
Do the JW's preach to all of the 10,500 plus ethnic groups and tribes today?
Where are all the mentally and physically challenged people? I have seen very few of these become Jehovah's Witnesses.
Why do the mainstream Christian denominations have so many children as members, many who worship without their parents?
On second thought, it may be better not to ask any questions. Those JC's have a habit of forming almost overnight when questions arise within the organisation.
At least we can be thankful the elder did see fit to make a contribution which is so unlike most Jehovah's Witnesses when it comes to donating anything except to the WTBTS.
