Wait on Jehovah - What does is it truly mean?

we have encountered this advice countlessly on wt study articles.
this especially comes out to ease the waiting pain of brothers eagerly waiting for god's new world and the end of the old system of things - with all the sufferings that go along with it.. i also noticed this being floated to try to extend the patience of brothers who are jumping ahead of the organization in terms of thinking - as if they are pre-empting the organization on certain sensitive views and issues.. if a brother has gotten an idea or insight that is far more superior than the present affairs in the society, or regarded as way in advance - he can be branded as a brother "not in order".

In Revelation, why is one verse to be taken literally and the other figuratively?
by I_love_Jeff inwhy is the great crowd in rev.7:9, standing before the throne mind you, to be taken figuratively and on earth if the same description (before the throne) in rev.
14:3 is used in a literal sense and in heaven?.

Fading ... Do You Owe Witness Friends An Explanation?
by What Now? ini'm curious about what you all think on this subject.
when my husband and i became irregular about a year ago, and then inactive around 5 months ago, i felt that it would be hypocritical to take advantage of the social side of the witness community if we weren`t going to meetings or in service.
we stopped entertaining (which we did quite regularly - theme parties, card parties, movie nights, big turkey dinners, breakfasts on holidays etc), and i slowly stopped accepting invitations for get togethers, playdates etc.

Welcome to the reality of JW love.
I advise you to 'widen out' and find some new friends because every one of your JW 'friends' will eventually unfriend you on Facebook and everywhere else they are 'friends' with you.
I lost every JW 'friend' I had when I DA'd except for one and she had been fading for years, although I didn't know about it because we were in different congregations.
I have gained 10 times as many friends since leaving the JW's and every one of them is a true friend who have proved their friendship is genuine many times.
Hang in there and remember that the JW's are captives who have given their minds over to a publishing company that has them convinced hawking books is spreading the gospel of Christ.

Your Baptism
by Aunt Fancy inwe have been going through our literature and throwing away a lot of it which feels great.
my hubby came cross the program from my baptism in 1986. the divine peace dc held in the astrodome in houston, tx.
he always wrote the attendance and the amount baptized so on that day there were 30,894 in attendance nd 531 baptized!

Congratulations on being too smart to get dunked.
Personally, I got rebaptised as a Christian after I left the cult.

Advertising the District Assembly on the Radio
by RubaDub inis this just a local practice to south florida or is it done in other areas too?.
i'm driving to work last week and on one of the most popular radio stations (primarily talk and politics) they were advertising the district assembly in west palm beach florida for next week.. it was about a 30 second spot and was the typical "everyone is invited ... no collections taken" .... etc.
etc.. is this common in other areas ???.

I found out the truth about the U.N. on this site.
I printed out the emails between the Guardian and the Watchtower, the letter from the U.N. and the
Guardian newspaper articles and showed them to 2 elders after they denied the allegations that the WTBTS had
affiliated with the U.N. in any way.
They called the P.O. and he said that there had been a letter from the WTBTs regarding it but couldn't remember
where he had placed it in his files (uh huh).
This is definitely a discussion forum for JW's who are interested in TTATT.

Was the New World Bible Translation Committee pressed for time?
by I_love_Jeff in....when they did not include a translation of the hebrew scriptures in your special kingdom interlinear bible?
perhaps it is easier to manipulate the new testament to fit with their twisted jw teachings?.
