  excellent material can be found within the reasoning book, page 328, para.2, 3. occasionally, i see posters make presumptuous comments like, "all you need is the bible", or, "i'm born-again, so there's no need for spiritual assistance from another christian", or,"i'm saved", or my favorite, "jesus talks to me directly.

  " on one hand, i can't be overly critical of such ones because they do attempt to read and understand the bible on their own.

  (acts 17:11) not to mention they're generally peaceable folks, just self-misguided when erroneously believing that they can go it alone.

  A real difficult congregation???

  myself and my family have had some odd experiences in our current congregation.

  i have'nt been to meetings since september because of this.. 1. the co told the elder who was studying with my husband that he was doing it as an "academic exercise.

  " my husband is very intelligent, been in the military, has a degree and a masters and a good job.

  i started studying at 18 and have no jw realitives.

  i'm returing because my life is heading in the wrong direction.

  At least you can tell the board to F*&% off, leave and then come back in a few months and most will not shun you for 6 months to a year.

  And... you can agree or disagree with folks here without having to worry about getting hauled before some dumbass window washers and janitors who will decide if you are worthy of eternal life or not.

  Just fill in the form and a deceived cultist with be happy to study a Watchtower book with you and will use out of context scriptures to prove his/her cult has the only religious truth on earth.

  hubby is now giving 5 days a week to the cult.

  they see more of him while he is awake than i do.

  when he is home he is either sleeping or in his office on his computer.

  my wife has told her jw best friend and jw sister that she is givng up the religion!!

  and there was i worrying about losing her when i left the cult.

  and, to top it all, my 15 and 13 year old children are using their critical thinking skills and can see it all for what it is.

  Who REALLY is doing the successful preaching work today?

  why do the jw's report their field service hours each month, turning it in for recognition by an organization...??.

  jw's love to brag about their preaching efforts.

  their very claiming the recognition for this work, is cancelling out their reward from jehovah god, according to the words of jesus in matthew 6.

  I asked some Jehovah's Witnesses on another forum to explain what the good news is that they preach.

  All they could do was post Matthew 24:14.

  They don't have a clue what the good news is.
