I am happy for you, Julia.
I hope this job works out well with you.
Don't pay any attention to the whiners who have their panties in a wad over what the curriculum consists of.
Maybe they will man up and pay you the same salary you get from the school so you can stay at home and make them happy if they don't like what you are teaching.

New JW... One Can Only Dream
by Gustv Cintrn inhere are a few of my wishful thoughts that, if came true, would make me enjoy my religion even more:.
no more end of month time reporting.. delete one of the 1-day circuit assemblies.
may replace with a 'special meeting', such as the one we had last year.. eliminate friday from the big convention.. no more international conventions!

Gusty Cintrn, you are begining to sound like an apostate with all those reforms you advocate.
Maybe you should go to your congregation elders and confess your sin against the organization.

Elders, apostasy and disfellowshipping issue's - thoughts please
by FeelingFree inok so... when i was talking to my mil about why i no longer wanted to be a witness she kept trying to convience me that i needed to speak to the elders.
i said from the word go i didn't feel the need to as my mind was already made up and no one could change it.
i also said if the elders new all my reasons for leaving they would view me as an apostate and i would get disfellowshipped.

As a former member of 'the Body' I can assure you that if you tell the elders all the reasons you can't return to the kingdom hall you will be labeled much more than 'spiritually weak' and more than likely will be DF'd for apostasy.
If you want your MIL and dad to see just how loving the Watchtower's shepherds are then you should meet with them and spill your guts.
It may wake your family up and they might leave the cult, and then again it may cause them to get closer to Geehover and shun you for the rest of your life.
It's your call.
Personally, I would ignore them.

I am sooo screwed
by Yondaime inso last night i was talking to my sister about how i admired president obama's speech to the u.n that happened earlier that day.. i then compared the extremism of isis to how much of a fanatic my jw bil is.. at the end of the statement , my mom walked in to the kitchen.
she was standing in the living room and she heard everything i said.. she called the elders that night to tell them what i said so they can counsel me.. i'm going to meet with them after the meeting on sunday!.
what do i do?!!!!!.

Why do you feel it necessary to meet with them?

A few questions for believers
by keyser soze inwhen confronted with all of the inconsistencies and atrocities of the bible, many believers invariably claim that they don't base their faith in christ on what's written in the bible.
so what is the basis then, if not scripture?.
and please don't tell me "the lord has revealed himself to me".

Perry posted it like it was for me too.
Another problem as a JW was that I asked Jehovah to forgive me when I should have been asking Jesus to forgive me.
As soon as I put all my trust in Jesus and asked Him to forgive me my whole world changed for the better.
I suggest you read Romans and Galatians beginning at chapter 1 in each book and ask Jesus to reveal Himself to you.

Most people listen to the radio during their commute to and from work and today's consumer would rather listen to music, sports talk radio, etc. than ruin their day by getting put to sleep by some "the end of the world is soon, soon, soon!" monotonous fool who barely finished high school.

Blown away-- where to go from here
by All for show ini stumbled upon this website a few weeks ago due to the jw.org ridiculousness, since then i haven't been able to pull myself away.

it's global.

Take your time and thoroughly research the history of the denomination.
It may help to have your husband assist you.
Within a month of serious research you will realize what many of us found out.
We were deceived by a bunch of false prophets.

Watchtower Takes in $2 Million Conditional Loan and Won't Return the Loan, Is it True?
by BucketShopBill ini heard several stories of the watchtower taking in loans and donations given by rich witnesses who have fallen on to hard times and asked for the money back and the watchtower won't return the money.
have you ever heard of the watchtower only paying the money back on "conditional loans" once legal experts get invovled?
one of the stories that is around is a family donated a large chunk of their nest-egg to the watchtower and the husband got sick and the branch refused to contact him when he asked for his conditional donation back, would the watchtower screw people out of their money?

They screwed a sister out of over $30,000 she loaned the kingdom hall to pave the parking lot.
3 months after she loaned the kingdom hall the $$$$ she received a letter from the Watchtower Society thanking her for her genorous donation.
The wicked elders sent her money to the Watchtower Society, turned around and borrowed the $$$ back from the society and tacked it onto the kingdom hall mortgage payment to the society.
