Its a no-brainer. The WTBTS is an apostate organisation that is fulfilling Matthew 24:15-16 to a 'T' by separating mankind from Christ:
15 "So when you see the abomination that causes desolation , spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place," (let the reader understand), 16 "then those in Judea must flee to the mountains!
over the weekend my cousin came to visit from mi, and her husband (elder) started to do his shepperding thing with me (have not attended meetings for over 1 year), and made a compeling argument about how the holy spirit is given by god only if you attend meeting and go to field service...etc, etc.
and the whole "faith and works" issue.
it was a different angle that i have never heard before, about me being a "instrument or tool" of god...blah, blah, blah... anyhow, it got me thinking about going back...especially when things are not going to well for me right now... (he said its because i left jehovah).. how can i convince myself that this is not true?
You coulld say i am unstable since my divorce 08/03, battaling depression, alcoholism, low self esteem, self loathing, and occasional suicide. So of course, going back seems like a quick fix.
Smoky, you are where I was 2 years ago. Give yourself the best gift of your life. Seek professional counseling before you go back. Those problems were the reason I stopped going to meetings. A little bit of psychotherapy and looking objectively at what theWTBTS says to do that they themselves do not do and telling you don't do that and then doing exactly what they said you can't do cured me of ever going back to certain spiritual death.

i'm easy to influence, but once i'm back alone, i do what i wanted to do originally.

Until I realised it was for appearnces. Most of them could care less about one another unless someone was about to 'bring reproach on Jehovah' and then they would go out of their way to be 'friends' and encourage the erring one with a JC

2. one would chase everyone out of the bathrooms and would stand at the sink to make sure no one used more than one papertowel.(she tried that once with me so i started bringing my own paper towels and keeping them under the sink..irked her to no end)

i hear and read alot about peoples experiences and some are pretty horrendous....does anyone actually feel they have benefited from being a jw at least in one way or another...me personally i feel i benefited from the ministry school as public speaking is part of my job and has definately improved career prospects?.

Ditto. It was different and very eye opening to be a dub. I do appreciate that despite all the doctrinal lies and deception I have come away with a deeper appreciation of a loving creator who doesn't require one to work without letup for a book pimping corporation to have a relationship with him.

ok ... to me it's not totally related to jw life actually, i'm here because i'm used now to chat with people (you know like you go into a cafe and share wathever you want with whoever as this board is very rich and full for immediat interaction), support them, get some support ... i just like that ... also of course it's very interesting at the same time to follow some news and get information that i might spit back to my familly in time to wake them up .... what about you ?
Life viewpoints, therapy, meeting people who are going or have gone through the same feelings of rejection and aloofness from those you love most that put their loyalty to an organisation ahead of everything just so they may be spared if and when the world stops for everyone else. and best of all being able to express myself without worrying if someone will tell on me for it.
there was always the talk of the new order, or new system.. but did you ever take the time to wonder what it would really be like?.

i actually went to the meeting this morning (okay, sumeone talked me into going)...........god it was boring.......something about jesus and the kingdom and frigging deuteronomy and hebrews and jeremiah-was-a-bullfrog...........and then they talked about old faithful: mathew 28:19 20 "go therefore and piss everyone off selling btochtower and asleep magazines to all the inhabitents of the earth.
an' look: i am with you every frigging saturday morning till the government bans your sorry asses.
i escaped after the first meeting and met the stares of several good christians wanting to know why i was leaving half way through......i told the asshole elder who followed me outside: " i've got my period!!
When hearing the good reports about the 'upbuilding' meetings and the fruitage it produces it makes me wonder how I ever believed any of that blasphemous crap. What really gets me is the instructions in the WT of how you may show genuine concern for others in the cong that are coping with various emotional or physical problems by reinforcing your love for them and inviting them out for a wonderful afternoon in sharing the Kingdom message. Where is the Christian love that Jesus showed individuals? It just is not in their hearts because they don't have any concept of Jesus and the compassion and love He has.
