  Elder and MS Extortion!

  the elders and ministerial servants at my hall were asked to attend a strange meeting last night.

  the society is asking for our help to raise $10,200.

  they are seeking to raise this money in april from elders and ministerial servants in our circuit only.

  i haven't got much of a story.

  i'm in my late teens, grew up in it, and got out of the society's regime by the skin of my teeth.

  nearly go baptized because i firmly did believe it was the "truth" but because of a gut feeling that held me back, that i almost ignored, i didn't sign my blood to big brother.

  Who is unworthy to eat and drink and why?

  i have been thinking about this question a lot, especially during this time of year.the watchtower compels about 7 million jw's every year to believe, that they are unworthy to eat the bread and drink the cup of the lord.a main point of the watchtower's argument is found at 1cor.

  27 so then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the lord.

  28 everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup.

  Congregation had to relocate Memorial...thanks to me

  so, the two local congregations were planning to hold their memorial together at 7:30 at the local community center, but they had to make a last-minute change to their own hall, and i'm pretty sure it was because of me.. let me explain.... at work on monday afternoon, a co-worker returned from her lunchbreak and showed me the memorial invitation that was waiitng in her door when she went home for lunch.

  i noticed the sticker on the back indicated the memorial was being held, not at the local hall, but at the community center.

  from a past (non-jw) event i attended there, i knew they didn't allow alcohol (unless you pay for security guards), so i wrote to the center's coordinator:.

  Whoever made the arrangements for the comunity center must have been the same JW's who registered

  with the UN/DPI.

  They forgot to read the small print in the contract.

  2002 Road King custom paint, Bud lite blue with ghost flames. She's an old girl but so are we and Ole' Blue just purrs real nice to (thanks to Vance and Hines pipes). What kind of iron horse do you ride? My wife's eyesight is all but gone now so we might have to move to a Can Am soon, so this could be the last year for the old girl. I hope not and Nan says it's ok, she must have nerves of steel. We rode to AR last year thinking about an East Coast jont this year. Maybe NC,SC,WV,KY,TN. Have'nt rode the Dragon Tail for a couple years now.

  I live less than 20 miles from the dragon.

  Have lost a couple of friends to it.

  My husband MISSED the meeting today! AGAIN!!!

  yep, i was comparing the nwt with the greek, which, incidentally uses words like 'grace' and 'spirit' instead of 'undeserved kindness' and 'gifts of the spirit'.

  i pointed out these mistranslations to my dear husband.. then i showed him 2 tim 2:5-6 in the nwt and the original greek (strong's, westcott and hort) as well, where it says jesus became mediator for all and showed him in the wt where it says jesus is only mediator for 144 000. i also showed him an instance in the wt where it raves on about hating 'apostates' and others, then showed him matthew 5:44 "however i say to you: continue to love your enemies and to pray for those persecuting you.".

  i didn't have to say anything 'apostate'; just show him the contrasting texts.. then i showed him the "shepherd" book where it says one can get dfd for "deliberately spreading teachings contraryto bible truth as taught by jebovah's witnesses" (ibid, pg 65) and told him that i've deliberately told him something different to the wt teaching therefore in the elders' eyes, i can be dfd.

  Have you figured out how you are going to deal with the inevitable

  'shepherding' calls if he misses 3 or 4 meetings in a row?

  The elders are going to 'remind' him where he learned the truth.

  They are going to ask him if he still believes that God is using the organisation.

  Just a friendly heads up so you can get prepared.

  How do I as a future "Therapist" help ex-jws that won't move on from the WT?

  i am halfway through my master's program in psychology/sociology and plan on being a therapist/sounselor.

  i left jw's in 1988 and i have never looked back.

  i enjoy my life so much after getting my aa degree, then my ba degree, and now i will soon get my ma degree.

  I got the dreaded call about the memorial

  i haven't been to the meetings in just about a full year and i get a call this morning from my dad inviting me.

  his words were full of guilt trip.

  he said he would like us to go as a family like i'm breaking it up if i don't go.

  Personally, I would rather be annihilated by the Watchtower god than to attend the JW's satanic

  ritual and watch all those deceived people unknowingly reject Jesus because they believe 8

  demon possessed men in New york.
