Why would a facility be needed at all to accomplish this task? Can't the translators work at home using their computers and meet in person in their living rooms if needed?

.. i am disturbed by some of the more aggressive apostates posting videos on youtube,like "a jw memorial to remember" where a drunk man goes to a memorial and downs the whole glass of wine as a sort of protest.

They seem proud when one of their minions acts out, like giving the middle finger at a KH or shouting at JWs on the street. It's kind of embarrassing.
Yep it is. After a brief period of venting one's anger, a normal person can move away from such behavior (if ever engaging in it in the first place). Ventilation is healthy, and so is anger, as long as it doesn't become a problem in itself. (I wrote about that in a book...)
Thing is, people are not always self aware or honest with themselves. Acting out by protest isn't always to "help people out of the cult"--I suspect many times it's an act to help oneself deal with anger, get revenge, etc.
If that wasn't true, then most of these types would be intersted in prevention. It's obviously much, much more effective in helping others. But almost no one is interested in that, as far as I can tell. And that says something about true motives.
It's dangerous to urge emotionally troubled people to act out and exploit their actions to get attention.
Yep. But many human beings tend toward bullying, and bullying by proxy. xjws are not different from the rest.

Really?! I haven't heard that sentiment since I was a teen. I figured it was true when I was in puberty but not after that, and maybe the same for others. Never knew that was true for adults. Wow, if I washed my hair every day, it would be straw.

If he's real, and he's worthy of our worship, then he'll say, "Good job making the most of the gift of life I gave you. You were a good person, improved to your community, and enjoyed my gift. You figured out that's what life's all about, and you did it."

I'm watching this right now and it's just...sad...
The girls are supervised constantly when they're teenagers to prevent them from ever being alone with boys. Ever.
They don't like the girls to attend school. They're shown on this program just cleaning and walking around in tight clothes, lots of makeup and jewelry.
As teens, they apparently are with their families 24/7 and not allowed to talk to boys. Then they go to a big ball with the over-the-top gowns, and it's socially acceptable to look for a husband. So they get to talk to boys for the first time in their cloistered lives, and they get a huge crush on a boy.
This seems to be a perfect method for breeding little sexpots who swoon over their husband.
I'm trying to be respectful of this culture but I'm having a hard time with the treatment of women. Is this for real?

Sounds like he does not have a condition that would impair his ability to decide what religion to be, what medical care to have, or whether or not to rape someone.
This story is the first time I've personally heard of someone refusing a blood transfusion due to a self-inflicted wound. Interesting--this story has a little bit of several different jw hot button issues--mental health care, blood, and sex crimes.

I use L'Oreal sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. Works great & is a lot less expensive than Wen.
