i have seen many witnesses with 4,5,6,7 kids.
no problem with that.
they are mostly loving families but today i experianced the birth of my son.. the emotions of my wife... the pain... the fear... the hope combined with the joy of the birth and seeing my wife reaction when she held the baby was well balanced.. .
Congratulations
Adam and Eve sin and God curses Eve with birth pangs.- Then why worship a sick violent, horrifing diety like that??? << What I saw today was not the result of a loving god.
This is making me giggle a little. I saw a birth once and had the same reaction. Everyone around me was like, "Oh, doesn't that make you want to have a baby? It's so beautiful."
Um, HELL NO.
It was NOT beautiful to see a woman's soft bits be basically split in half like something out of a bad alien movie. I could not believe she didn't pass out or die from the pain.
And the thought, "I want to have a baby," could not have been further from my mind. Instead I wanted to have a chastity belt soldered onto my hips, with my legs crossed, while I was moving to a convent on an island in a shark-infested ocean, with doors that lock from the outside, so I'd have zero chance of becoming pregnant.
its been a very eye opening experience for me to find out that the god of the bible is as real as thor or ra.
i still believe a higher power created life but can see now how it doesn't really care about us.
so with this in mind realizing one has only 70-80 years to live and that may be just it, is very stunning..
It can also be freeing, exhilirating even.
You are free from the shackles of mythology now. You can look life in the eye and get to know him for who he really is.
Your curiosity can be fueled. Learn about sciency stuff. Try to wrap your head around us being star stuff. Think about the sociology of belief, how that develops and why. It's really cool actually.

Oh yes, definitely. Armageddon will come in this, the 20th century. I believe(d) that!
The Nations Shall Know That I Am Jehovah p. 216
"Shortly, within our twentieth century, the "battle in the day of Jehovah" will begin against the modern antitype of Jerusalem, Christendom."
Watchtower 1989 Jan 1 p.12
"He was laying a foundation for a work that would be completed in our 20th century."
(The 1989 Watchtower used the term "in our 20th century" in the magazine, but this was changed to "in our day" for the bound volume and subsequent CD library. Click on the thumbnails to compare the magazine version to the bound volume.)
Awake! 1961 Feb 22 pp.5,7,8
"a war of God against all wickedness, followed by a paradise earth without death - all to be realised in the twentieth century. ... Revelation 16:16 calls it the "war of the great day of God the Almighty," Armageddon. This war will come in the twentieth century.
The Nations Shall Know That I Am JehovahHow? 1971 p.72
What did he [Ezekiel] as a "sign" or "portent" for the future indicate that Jehovahs remnant of anointed witnesses would do in this twentieth century?
Watchtower 1979 10/15 12-13 Sustained by the Millennial Hope
In foretelling events, the "things happening" in our 20th century, Jesus Christ compared them to the fig tree when "its young branch grows tender and puts forth its leaves" a proof that summer is at hand. (Mark 13:28, 29) This corresponds with Jesus coming to execute judgment.
Watchtower 1992 10/1 16-17 The Messiahs Presence and His Rule
This sign amounts to a detailed portrait of a troubled era Every passing day confirms that the 20th century perfectly fits Jesus description.
i guess i am just venting.
its a mess.
i just dont even know where to start with this crap.
I used to wish my unbelieving parent would leave the other and take me along.
Of course, if you were able to get him to see the light & have a good relationship after, that would be really awesome.
so this is the ultimate dilemma.
my wife and i are on the same page.
do we fade, in which all our friends, and i stress friends call us and feel sick and hurt and hurt and we feel guilty; or do we da so we tell the wt what we see as wrong as what we see that lead us to believe its a false religion; or do we df and let me or my wife let them catch us at some wrong doing and stop going to meetigs..... .
Playing by their rules in any form simply reinforces their self-appointed authority.
Move away, move on, and get busy living a life worth living.

What I'd like to say is a violation of the posting rules on this forum.
So instead I will say, "Oh fiddlesticks. What stinkers. I wish H E double hockeysticks was real so they could go there."
Construction is apparently restricted to certain times a day in that jurisdiction and the FB page claims the dubs are not compliant. They called the police.
the feeling that you're never good enough.
the feeling that you're wicked and evil.. .
because i'd give anything not to feel this way.
Yes it does. Your brain has been programmed to respond a certain way, automatically, before your logic kicks in. It's not just beliefs you have to change, but your actual process for thinking.
Give yourself time.
read this earlier on jwtalk in a thread about if the 100 years of the kingdom is part of the 1000 year reign.. actually this question goes back to how the brothers believed and saw things back in bro.
russell's day.
they thought 6000 years of human history and christ's second presence began in 1874, ( their chronology was 100 years off from that which we now accept - this was corrected in the 1940s ) believing such they thought the 1000 year reign began at that time.
ha. years ago, they kicked me off that site for talking about how we used to charge for magazines in the d2d. "either you're not a jw or you're the most wacked out sister," were the words, iirc. i guess chronology is fair game though.
they reportedly have over 10 million baptised members world wide , as an offshoot of "the international bible students association", wouldnt you say they have gods blessing rather than jehovahs witnesses ?.
smiddy.
