  Your thoughts on demons, ghosts and spirits

  as a jw were taught all about demons but i never had an incident.

  my wife believes wholeheartedly says her family including her has had problems with them.

  i have met people that even non religious people that say they have experienced a ghost or a spirit.

  The INTJ Personality Type, (and those close to it)

  i am compelled to write a bit about this at this late hour here in the us, because it is keeping me up.. the recent four year old thread on the briggs myers personality type test that was dug up, produced an interesting finding.

  many here, (at least tested informally for), the intj personality type.

  intjs also do not understand irrational behavior particularly well at all.. why does this matter?

  I agree it does seem there is a disproportionate number of INTJs among active members here. I of course would like stats on that. ;)
  
  Dubbery is highly incompatible with INTJs, so it would stand to reason that many are ex-jws. Also, INTJs are drawn to asynchronous methods of communication, like Internet forums. They like analysis and imagining different scenarios--viola, JWN.
  
  I believe most successful JWs are ExxJs. They do not allow for boundaries or deep thought. Introspection is highly discouraged--it was when I was in--you were supposed to be studying a publication, praying or meditating on what you learned, so as not to let Satan in. Do you know how hard that is for an INTJ? Introspecting is like breathing for me.

  VERY short day at the Arlington/Dallas International Convention-My Observations

  okay, some good takeaway:.

  i have never been to a convention quite like this before.

  a very friendly vibe all around, lots of banners and posters with sayings like "sending love to all our brothers", "see you in the paradise", "ecuador sends greetings", and "jehovahs-witness.net" (okay, i lied on that last one...).

  What is this "see you in paradise" thing? It's something the dubs say on your deathbed (had it said to me when I was bleeding to death).

  Anyway, why can't they see each other now? Why do they have to wait until TNS?

  Hi Aunt Fancy, You may be interested in this thread. In short, a few ex-jws tried getting the museum to put the wts documents in its library and the dubs successfully fought it. Years later, I heard about it and started contacting them to ask again. They agreed and put the Yearbook with the Hitler conciliation letter in it. Dubs should have nothing to fear from having their own literature in the museum. Let the Truth be told!

  So anyway, I was thinking about this thread and was hoping someone could give me scans of these articles. If I can get scans, I will donate them to the museum.

  The Normal Heart (movie)

  finally got the guts to watch it last night.

  it was so heartbreaking.. i was a partially brainwashed teenager when the story depicted in the movie happened, a few hundred miles away.

  i remember the advocates' angry outbursts on tv and the dying men in hospital beds, holding hands.. being a sheltered jw, i had no exposure to homosexuality and only the twisted teachings of the wts to taint my views.

  I had forgotten that President Reagan didn't say the word "AIDS" aloud for a few years either. (There is some argumentation about this...but even those who defend him do not claim he spoke about it publicly early on.)

  I was terrified of getting the disease, and had friends die of it, due to being in another high risk group. I secretly was deeply thankful for Gay Men's Health Crisis and ACT UP for the work they were doing.

  I had also forgotten the Church condemned condoms then too.

  Being a sheltered jw, I had no exposure to homosexuality and only the twisted teachings of the wts to taint my views. It was all so confusing to me.

  There was an awesome scene in the movie when the main character was talking about his pattern of sex with strangers and said he did not realize it was possible for a man to love a man. And his partner replied, "It's natural for men to love. They have to learn not to."

  I got thinking about babies and how they just love naturally. And it occurs to me that society had taught these men that loving each other is not natural, and they believed it.

  I suppose such hate is a weapon as effective as those the wts uses.

  Deep subjects for your Saturday afternoon.
