The story was profound. I know we were taught tulips and tralala, but I do remember worrying about what the New World would be like if the dubs were in charge. I had similar thoughts to those in the story.

The Revelation book is, ultimately, one of the main things responsible for leaving. I could see how controlling and destructive the elders/WTS were, and I knew I didn't want to live in a world they were in charge of, let alone forever! My 1st thought when leaving is that I'd rather die than live with them. It wasn't 'till much later that I was able to see they were wrong with their teachings and lifestyle.

i have a relative still 'in' that might accept that the 'food at the proper time' was missing here!

i think i used to have a copy of the booklet 40 years ago - but it is long gone.

Yes, I think any post such as this should be taken with caution. It is possible the OP is actually suicidal; it's possible he/she is not. We simply don't know.

Just some things to think about.....it is certainly possible a person could leave a genuine suicide note on a forum. People leave them in writing all the time--an online forum is just another method of communication. Another possibility is that the person suffers from some type of disorder (like Borderline Personality Disorder or Histrionic Personality Disorder) which is leading him/her to post dramatic, semi-serious suicide threats--partially in sincerity, partially to provoke people's reactions to affirm he/she is loved (which is impossible with internet "friends" who don't know the poster personally anyway)....in which case, he/she definitely needs professional help, just a different kind. Then it's also possible this is just a hoax, in which case all our responses are giving him/her a kick.

So to the OP, if you need help, please get help. If this is just a hoax, please refrain from playing such a horrible trick on others.

i once heard about a sister that was having a lot of trouble with demons, and apparently she had a bad demon attack in the kingdom hall.. anyone else heard of such a thing?

so much for the house of jehovah being some sort of refuge.. i have also heard of a witness who still experienced a demon attack despite calling out jehovah's name aloud.

Article Allegedly Makes End of the World Predictions re 2034

i saw someone post about a march 2005 wts publication making thinly veiled threats predictions about 'the end' coming in 2034. now i can't find the thread.

i had heard some talk about this previously, but then was told it was a hoax....wts supposedly had not said anything about it.

then i heard this week a publication just came out that does say it.

I had heard some talk about this previously, but then was told it was a hoax....WTS supposedly had not said anything about it. Then I heard this week a publication just came out that does say it.

Anyone seen it? What does it say?

If it does make predictions about 2034, this is huge news.

my older sister, always a devout jw, or so we were led to believe......recently left home and went to live with her boyfriend!

hubby and self are faders, fading very nicely so far.

we went round for sunday dinner at my parents, who are devout jws and they had also invited my sister and her boyfriend.

Who cares about the kinky underwear, the make up, the profane lyrics! He's a Jehovah's Witness! He's cleaned up his life and got married!!!! This is why the Yorkshire Ripper is also acceptable as a Jehovah's Witness.

Yeah, but Prince STILL wears makeup and effeminate clothes. The Ripper isn't doing his naughty stuff anymore, right? He "repented".

Is it possible your interactions with others are "normal", but you think it's distant because you're used to enmeshed relationships like you had with the other b0rg? Just a thought.
