I think I have mentioned before, this will be my third year of non-attendance. I intend to ''celebrate'' at home for the first time - when I mentioned this to a JW though, I was informed that Jesus (I think) stressed the importance of not isolating ourselves but to be united in a ''Congregation''. <sigh> - I just can't win.........

What if "the end" happens in 2150?
by JustTickledPink injust a question.... what if the wts came out with a for sure prediction based on new light that without a doubt armeggedon will be here in 2150?
well, that means that our generation will all die, but we can hope for a resurrection and we have to continue to preach and our grandchildren or great-grandchildren might actually be the ones to walk through the "end" into their "new system"
the question is how many jw's would there be?

2150? not a point - not in MY or OUR (collective) lifetimes, so we're guaranteed a resurrection...

ok, door to door question.......
by freedom96 ini am always teasing my wife about having a "country club" upbringing as a witness.. in the hall i grew up in, and those i attended for a few years after turning 18, were pretty hard core.
i tease her about how easy she had it.
which, in my mind was clearly the case, but that is another story.. this case involves going out in service.. in my halls, you went out almost regardless of weather.

Thank you so much for the warm welcome!
by TooOpinionated inthe beginning of the end for me was when i questioned the elders on the child abuse policy-i honestly could not believe the 2 witness rule would apply that that particular situation.
i knew our congregation had alleged cases of child molestation from years past, but the perp in question was disfellowshipped.
all of a sudden, after about 13 years, she wants to come back.

hypocrisy
by rebel8 inwell my beef for the day is this.
my mother, who claims to be a faithful dub, attends weddings and funerals in other churches, but she sits down when we are supposed to stand (ie, when a prayer is being said, when the bride is walking down the aisle, etc.).
she is proud of herself for "making a stand".

She was already aware but states her conscience allows her to buy there
Ah - 'Conscience' - something that always works to the advantage for
dubssome. Clever that. -

I've made my first moves to nudge my mom toward free-thought, so far ... no dice.
What did you use TaylorS?
Everyone has a passion and a weakness - so the ''One Document'' would depend on what that was in any individual.

Incredible isn't - who has the conscience here? lol - NOT the dub - I know what you mean though, I'd feel bad about 'shopping' someone - BUT the Benefits System is in place for those who are genuinely in need of help - and sadly there are more people (especially elderly) who are NOT claiming what they are entitled to.
