For what it's worth, I think you're a wonderful grandmother. Your grandson must love you dearly, and you ought to feel proud that he thinks of you as a safe haven - someone he can trust and ''be himself'' with.

awhiile back i posted telling you about my grandson whos mother hit him for not saying grace before a meal ( he is 15yrs old ) he has been hit on many occasions,he hates being a witness and is forced to go to the hall by his mother.
my grandson phoned us on the day his mother had hit him,he was sobbing down the phone to us and said he wanted to come and stay with us, i said yes and that i would fetch him, anyway his mum and dad have had nothing to do with me since despite me writing to them expressing how much i love my grandchildren and that i wish to see them,i have had no reply.. the other day my grandson phoned and said to my younger son that he is leaving home when he is 16 and can he come and stay with us,of course i said yes.
what i need to know is will he be disfellowshipped for living with his grandma ( i am not a jw ) of course i know what this will mean for him,his brothers and parents will shun him.. as for me what else can i do to see my grandchildren.

just wondering what your favorite books are guys.. any and all genres would be cool!
Have just finished reading ''The DaVinci Code'' which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have read ALL of Agatha Christie's which I love, but I think the best recent book I've read HAS to be, ''NOBODY TRUE'' by James Herbert - something in it for everyone, lol!
another post that i was on triggered a memory of something that happened in the late 60's???
two members of the gb... in canada were on the platform.they obviously knew each other quite well.
one offered to the other that he was good for a....can't remember the (insult brit type) laugh that was raised but even then i thought it was out of line.
It is generally believed that the curse which Noah pronounced upon Canaan was the origin of the Black race...They have been and are a race of servants...There is no servant in the world as good as a good Colored servant
I would REALLY love a copy of The Golden Age.........maybe this is one of the reasons why the Anointed are mainly Caucasian (!!) - I'd just LOVE to know what % in relation to the World's population!!
I have never heard the expression ''Jewing'' - although older Brits do often use ''mean as a Jew'' as a simile (even JW use this one).
''Mick'' is commonly used to refer to the Irish, as is ''Paddy''.
i think there should be a competition held for being the best singer of kingdom melodies.
we can put together a celebrity panel of judges- co's, do's, governing body member.
the winner then gets a recording deal to sing the melodies on a nationaly distributed cd that will be handed out in a special witnessing campaign.
I expected this thread to be a tad different before I looked. I thought there would be a panel of elders and all the wannabes competing for ''Best JW'' (let's face it, I don't think they'd bother competing on the singing). Maybe the panel would choose a Scripture and the ''Contestant'' would have to read it and give the latest interpretation. I reckon most Congregations have an equivalent ''Simon Cowell'' Elder - can you imagine? .........
i know there was another thread of "how many people did you bring in the truth," but how many people did you bring out of the truth?
sorry, i can't help it.
lol.
ZERO, so far, as I have always believed everyone has a right to chose their own path - and I respect the belief of others (just as I expect/ed MY beliefs to be respected). NOW, however, with what I know, I STILL think people have the right to chose BUT I believe they should be in possession of all the facts so they are able to make that choice.
.
i guess i wasn't that good with my preaching, cause i didn't convert a soul.. how many people did you bring to the org?.
ZERO - how proud do I feel? lol
.
''he said:''look out that you are not misled; for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, 'i am he,' and, 'the due time has approached.
' do not go after them.. i wonder who these false prohets are who could be constantly saying, ''the due time has approached'?
Exactly Vittvin - I wonder if they'd see the irony? lol
i remember, many years ago possibly at an assembly, hearing the story about a baptism (may have been a family being baptised).
upon being baptised, all members of the family cried both tears of joy (for the newly baptised's being anointed by god's spirit at that moment) and of sorrow (as they would never have everlasting life together in an earthly paradise).. is it urban legend?
did anyone else hear this?
In my haste to recount the story, I didn't make it clear that only ONE member of the family was Anointed <sigh> and this would mean them separated for all eternity...
.....Bethel Minute, I understood that Anointed were still being selected AFTER 1935 to replace 'fallen' ones....I have a lot to learn.
what's your opinion??
?
Now you mention it Gill, that's another thing that bugs me - the way the JW always criticise the Catholic and C of E Churches for ''Christening'' (Baptising) infants - the JW wait until they're out of nappies first!
last week my ex husband sent a letter to the elders telling each and every one of them just what he felt about them.
as they were d/f him he figured this was his last chance.
in his letter he stated that as i had scriptural reason for divoce, so did he.
I suppose it depends on the tone
Yep - I suppose I just thought that (naively maybe) the elder would take her word, as he cannot prove otherwise - therefore truth or lie would have to be accepted the same way.
