I've read allll the posts and everyone has their interesting story -- especially about the poisonous gas story.
Heretic, it's hard to understand I know. I wouldn't say I understand it 100% (especially with BC how time goes "backwards.") I know you should have faith and not sight, but (LOL) I just love the evidence of diaries and stones presented in Carl Jonson's book "Gentile Times Reconsidered."
It's interesting if you go by the true date, 587 BC, counting 2520 years to 1934 makes more sense! We are dealing with a lot more terrifying year because we are dealing with Adolf Hitler and I think this was when Adolf gained power around this time...! This "1934 year" is closer to when the United Nations was a formed as a war time alliance in 1942, international org in 1945. Wow! How much more significant is that!!! WW2 was a lot more devastating that WW1!!! Carl Jonson says in his book (Last Days -- When?) that WW1 was largely a European war!!! NOT A WORLD WAR!!! That's how we know the 607 BC date is so untrue!!!! -

Well, I'd like to say about this "agricultural society" the WTS paints the picture of... they are not really sure what OTHER THINGS we would do. In defense of the WTS, I think they know they don't have a clue... no one really does! (correct me if I am wrong on this.) The account of Adam and Eve didn't seem to have a problem of a proto-Argicultural/jungle/forest society that they grew up in until Adam and Eve got selfish about it all. We can't assume that it would have stayed like that anyway...
I think the criticism of the WTS is a bit unfair at times, and "apostates" lose credibility for their arguments against the Org. Particularly with relatively unimportant issues likes this. If you believe, who cares if it's heaven or paradise earth! I think in mainstream Christianity all I ever recall is these weird "angel looking people" with halos above their heads with harps sing "hallelujah" all day, whilst using a cloud as some sort of seat, which I think is unscientific too. lol (But of course I won't get the praise as you did, LtCmd.Lore. :(
I am sure LtCmd, you'd get sick of Pepsi and would find something better than that! I am sure God would know a whole lot more of us and knows how to make his "children" happy. If Jesus hands over his soverignty to Jehovah, there's an example of a change already! I think there will be a lot more to this "agricultural society," like things would have been drastically different if the first 2 humans obeyed God.
It's good that you are using your brain and realize the falsehood of the WTS, that's great. But you'll come across the same problem if you join another religion. Whether paradise or heaven, they all teach about an afterlife. But to me it seems like you want to become non-relgious or at the very least; agnostic. I am not judging you but there's 2 sides to a coin and everyone else is telling the other side. Goodluck in whatever you do and becoming independent! :) Glad that you are using your common sense, because the WTS uses "rare sense" too much. :) -

Bill Crews, a Uniting Church Reverened on commerical talkback radio 2GB [in Sydney] (great bloke by the way!) said only a couple of weeks ago that in Australia only 18% of Australians go to church on a regularly basis of a population of just over 20,000,000. The only growth churches are the Hill Song Church and the other one I just mentioned are the only ones that have noticeable growth. But even then they with the Uniting Church they had to merge it with Methodist, Presbyterian and Congregational Union Church. Why merge all these Churches? Because attendance in pathetic! This merge took place in 1977 -- just 2 months before Elvis died! A significant amount of people who attend these Churches are ethnic people: whether it be Chinese Protestant churches, Russian Orthodox (I've seen new ones built recently and they are a tiny minority!), Greek Orthodox or Amernian Coptic, Tongan Seventh Day Churches... etc.
Christianity is a decline in a gereral sense anyway. In America it looks better because they have this 300,000,000 million strong population!
If you want growth, go to China -- there are at least 60,000,000 million "cell churches" (as I was told on here) that go to church regularly and they are a Buddhist nation! Wow, pretty good on that regard.
Islam is one of the religions on the increase, but that will decline just like Christianity has.
