Faith
Thank you I will read that post right after I write these scriptures out. Someone said that IF Jesus had sinned there would not have been a triune nature to God. So I thought I would add these for prosperity sake;
JESUS had NO sin;
1 Peter 2:22 ...whom commited no sin, nor was any deceit found in his mouth..... (angels can sin, Jesus was never an angel)
Isaiah 53:9... nor was any deceit found in his mouth.
2 Corinthians 5:21 He made him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf (all angels can sin, all angels know sin, all angels could have sinned, Jesus was not Michael the archangel, Michael could have chosen to sin)
Jesus was perfect, He often said that he did what he saw his Father do. They were One. It took me awhile to understand until I began to think like a child. Jesus said we must be as children to enter heaven. So to a child it is basic. You cross a aligator and a rabbit, you get an aligabit. The Son of a dog, would be a dog. Jesus is the Son of man, the Son of God. The only. Firstborn of all creation in Greek means "prototokos" = preeminent. God set His Son over all things that ever were. Mary+God= ________ a child knows

Faith. Jesus could have been tempted by the devil in Matthew 4:1. But no. He wanted to be a Witness to Jehovah. He wanted to make his name known (John 17:26.) If you read the whole verse it make more sense: And I have made your name known to them and will make it known, in order that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in union with them.”
Why did he love him? Because he was God's servant and did his will. When he died on the stake, why would he say "God, why have you forsaken me!" He was obviously speaking to someone else! Who resurrected him? God of course!
when you quote Isaiah 53:9 "... nor was any deceit found in his mouth." This was still yet to be fullfilled by prophesy.
When you quoted 2 Corinthians 5:21 "He made him who knew no sin" This was the path he chose. He decided to remain loyal to God.
So what if Jesus was perfect! Adam was too, but then decided that he didn't need him anymore.
They were "one in purpose." It's like someone making a movie. You have a director, producer, stuntman, actors, props... they are all working together for one purpose: to make a movie!
By the fact that Jesus is called "son of God" means that he was a created being.
...Anyway, Jesus could have been sinful, if he wanted to. What is to stop him? Jehovah God would have been bitterly been disapointed, but he would have got someone else to do the work. Why make a distinction between angels and Jesus? They are all spiritual beings. They are all capable of doing bad. The angels that sinned joined Satan in his rebellion, remember?
I don't think Jesus would sin now, after all his been through with God. But there cold have been the slight chance where he could have sinned.

Leolaia,
Maybe Jesus and the angels were with him, but not standing along side each other.
--or --
Maybe the angels were say 50 meters away or something. :D You never know! lol Who knows what they get up to up there! :) Maybe God was speaking with a louder voice than usual because it was a major event or something. Maybe "with" means no less than 50 M. ... Everything is relative...
Isaiah 44:24 This is what Jehovah has said, your Repurchaser and the Former of you from the belly: “I, Jehovah, am doing everything, stretching out the heavens by myself, laying out the earth. Who was with me?
Maybe he is talking to the Israelities here? Seems like it is to me. When you read the whole paragraph and bit before the big paragraph of Isaiah 44:23-28 (at least in the NWT) it's obviously takling about people, because Jacob and Cyrus are mentioned.... -

If you put "God" as the plural "Gods" (like in the ancient Hebrew) it obviously can't be a trinity because of English grammar!!!
Proper English grammar translation: "And GOD went on to say: “Let us make man in our image..."
You can't forsake English grammar! They use to teach this thing called grammar in Australia, and you realize how flaming important it is!
It's like with John 1:1... Jesus and God can't be God -- it's either one or the other!!! Jesus is with WITH God (with the power of God's holy spirit.) If Jesus decided to be against God, he would't have been WITH God.
Another point: If Jesus went along with Satan, there would only be 2/3's of a trinity!!!!!!!!
Another thing: I can't be my dad and my dad my dad... I think God understands English grammar! -

another way of looking at it, is that God had an audience with him. A bit like if you go to a science fair (I don't live in America, just referring to the Simpsons) where you show off your science gadget. Or you are in school and you are talking to the audience about your favorite object and what tricks you do with it -- show and tell. And so with Genesis 1:26, he had an AUDIENCE.
God (single being) was talking to say 3,000 (plural, seperate beings) about this amazing new trick he was going to do (an image of themselves), a human being. -

Gen 1:26 And God went on to say: “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness..." I have been thinking lately (from a unitarian perspective) that Jehovah could have been "looking" and Jesus and some of the angels getting happy about the whole affair: "Yeah! What a wonderful idea! Don't you agree with me Jesus and Angel x,y and z (not necessarily all of them) 'Let us create man in our image! What a wonderful idea! I am sure when he is created you will understand why I have created this planet earth more.'"
You see, it doesn't explain it from a "full picture" perspective! I could easily be cooking dinner and be in a happy mood and say "Let's make dinner," and the cat comes in and what's it's dinner too! But unless the author tells you whole picture, you would have just concluded that I was in the kitchen by myself!
I disagree with "man" being put in 3 objectives in the mindset. I thought the idea of a trinity was was that they were co-equal, 3 bodies in one or something like that. I think by the fact that Adam was created in God's image (one body) proves the fact there is no trinity! Otherwise Adam would've had 3 heads! :D lol
(Reminds me of a video game Moneky Island "Look behind you! A 3-headed monkey!") -

Does Raymond Franz believe in the trinity or not?
by inquirer ini was thinking of buying that book "christian freedom.
" does he specifically say he believes in the trinity or not?
does anyone of you hear know of him?
-
inquirer
I personally don't believe in the trinity.
If Raymond believes in it, it's up to him. I would still probably buy the book, because he is a FLAMING GOOD WRITER! CRISIS OF CONSCIENCE -- One of the best books ever written!
Only Jehovah Elohim knows how much I liked that book!
Don't know if you would get the same feeling as me if you don't know much about JW's or never been a JW's! -

question for all
by bonnzo inmost of you are ex-dubs, so what if world events proved that the jw's were right.
for instance, governments turning on religion, matthew 24th chapt events really increasing at an alarming rate, enough to make you think: " maybe they were right?
" if that happened, and the wts left the "door on the ark", so to speak, open for a little while, would you go back to the wts?

There are MANY WAYS of looking at this issue. All the people who have partipated in this thread are looking at it from different angles... They are all true in my opinion... We just have different ways of looking at it through our own personalities. :)

Any religion (I mean ANY) that says they are the right religion means they wrong!
If you were the right religion, you wouldn't need to say you were! You have to read the Scriptures daily to see if it is true (Acts 17:11)
You tests the spirits to see if it's true. ... I mean... this Scripture says it all 1 John 4:1 Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God, because many false prophets have gone forth into the world.
FREEPEACE: Please have a listen to what I said in my threads... I mean, they always say (a worldly saying if you must [or just common sense!!! lol]) "There is always 2 sides to a story."
I'll just leave you with this thought: Do we need an organization to get God's approval? -

A question for the Christians...
by misspeaches inhi guys.
wondering if you have any input on this one.. now that you are no longer a jw what is your interpratation of the lords prayer where it says 'let your will take place in heaven also upon earth'.. i would love to hear your opinions on this matter.
as a christian the belief is that you are going to heaven right?
-
inquirer
Well obviously people are going to disagree with me. But I think if his will is on earth that means he wants people to be resurrected on earth. But he wants the spiritual ones to look out for us in heaven.
The "will" takes place in heaven and the blessed ones receive the benefits of this will on earth.
