  THE IMPORTANCE OF HOLDING HANDS!

  i started a thread a long hug http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/128891/1.ashx which touches on the below, but feel this subject deserves a thread of its own.. a study, highlighted on bbc breakfast news yesterday, acknowledged the importance of holding hands in a relationship, courting or married.

  it was stated that couples who hold hands in the street are more likely to have a solid relationship - and especially those who interlink their fingers when holding hands as this indicates a desire to be as close to each other as possible.

  arm linking is ok, too, but couples who just walk about not holding hands - and this includes married couples - indicates the relationship could be in trouble.. do you hold hands with your spouse/partner?

  Could you explain 'snog'? I hope it's what the wife and I do.

  looks like the all-powerful creator of everything has to hide behind humans when confronted with opposing ideas.

  sure, allah can rant on and on about how he wants to kill and torment the unbelievers, but what happens when someone simply questions allah?

  published by Jehovah’s Witnesses—the inside cover of the WT itself says, "The Watchtower is published semi-monthly by Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc." With a copyright assigned to Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania" not a mention of Jehovah’s Witnesses anywhere.

  So beginning 1 Jan 2008 this should change? The Watchtower (Public edition) is published monthly.

  One CO made the grandiose comment about the WT being the most printed magazine. Exceeded Readers Digest and TV guide and all the rest. I guess he won't be able to make that comment anymore.

  Again. A great job Blondie. Looking forward to a 30 degree day so I can wash the salt from my car.

  Wow, what a coincidence. I just heard on the radio yesterday that holding the hand of your spouse reduces stress.

  Similarities between The Da Vinci Code and the Watchtower Society

  the da vinci code is a great movie, but i couldn't help but see some similarities between the holy grail and the watchtower society.. for those of you who know nothing about this movie, the holy grail is not a chalice but a woman, mary magdalene, who supposedly was jesus' wife.. as the story goes, this secret had to be hidden by the catholic church - for if it had been proven that jesus was married, the source of papal authority would have disappeared.

  descendants of jesus living today would have had their dna matched with that of mary magdalene.. this is all fiction, but the similarity with the watchtower is this:.

  1914 is the watchtower's most important date.

  I know that this is a book of fiction. Thought I'd dig up this thread again and post a very interesting portion of the book

  "In terms of prophecy," Teabing said, "we are currently in an epoch of enormous change. The millennium has recently passed, and with it the two-thousand-year-long astrological Age of Pisces - the fish, which is also the sign of Jesus. As any astrological symbologist will tell you, the Piscean ideal believes that man must be told what to do by higher powers because man is incapable of thinking for himself. Hence it as been a time of fervent religion. Now, however, we are entering the Age of Aquarius - the water bearer - whose ideals claim that man will learn the truth and be able to think for himself. The ideological shift is enormous, and it is occuring right now."

  Langdon felt a shiver. Astrological prophecy never held much interest or credibility for him, but he knew there were those in the Church who followed it very closely. "The Church calls this transiitional period the End of Days."

  Sophie looked skeptical. "As in the end of the world? The Apocalypse?"

  "No." Langdon replied. "That's a common misconception. Many religions speak of the End of Days. It refers no to the end of the world, but rather the end of our current age - Pisces, which began at the time of Christ's birth, spanned two thousand years, and waned with the passing of the millennium.   It's no wonder that the WTS didn't want anyone to read this book. They didn't want us to know where they got their information.

  its been a while since i posted here...hope everyone is well.. some in canada may read the national post newspaper...friday they had an editorial entitled "halfway between religion and cult", discussing the blood issue as it relates to the the surviving sextuplets in british columbia, canada.

  i decided to respond, and to my suprise it become the "letter of the day", published in this weekend's edition of the post.

  ((fifi40)) It saddens me to read such events but they do need to be told. Do not feel any shame in what you did then. You did what you thought was best in your son's interest. No matter your decision at the time, the outcome was the same. By telling your story, James becomes a part of the tragic history that the WTS would like to erase. We will never let them forget. And James will never be forgotten.

  Do you have to get baptized to be saved?

  1 peter 3:21.

  21that which corresponds to this is also now saving you, namely, baptism, (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the request made to god for a good conscience,) through the resurrection of jesus christ.. the witnesses say that you have to get baptized to be saved, but what will happen to jw children that aren't baptized or jw teens that didn't get baptized yet?.

  Next, Gerrit Lösch, a member of the Governing Body and a graduate of the 41st class of Gilead, developed the subject "Publishers of Salvation." (Isaiah 52:7) For people to be physically saved when the present system of things is destroyed, they must take in accurate knowledge from God’s Word, make public declaration of their faith, and get baptized.

  BTW I'm still waiting for an answer to my letter on this subject.

  A Very Special Announcement!

  at the next upcoming memorial, the governing body is gathering all of the 8,000 or so anointed brothers, including the sisters, the world over to the upstate, paterson, second world headquarters, to get their input on what to do next.

  there will be refreshments after the drinking of the wine and eating of the bread.

  following this special gathering which will be held behind closed doors, rocking chairs will be provided, there will be a question and answer session at the paterson headquarters that will be hooked up via monitors and computer connections to freeminds.

  This is some 'special' wine and shortly afterwards we will hear that the number of annointed has suddenly dropped. Seems following the drinking of the wine these annointed ones just fell asleep in death. Evidently this is an indication from Jehovah that armageddon must be very close.

  my friend is an up and coming jw recruit.

  not baptized, but high-stepping in that direction.. any way... she lives a small rural town and she has to go to a neighboring town to a kh.

  she recently asked her jw guru if there would be a kh built in their own town any time soon.

  While it could be true I have a hunch that there just wasn't enough money to build one. It's easier to place the blame on the local churches and call it persecution. "Forbiding" (yeah right) the construction of a hall sounds better in the ears of the brothers and sisters.

  And they say they don't tickle the ears.
