  Anyone ever join the military after leaving?

  i was raised a jw and never knew much of anything besides it.

  i became inactive in 2001 (the sunday before 9/11 was my last meeting!

  ), and officially da'd myself in january of 2004. later that year, i enlisted in the navy reserve as hosptial corpsman.

  Public Speaking

  has anybody out there publically talked about their experiences as jw?

  i've given thought to it (lectures, classess, etc).

  i had a pastor from a local church express interest in me coming by and speaking with his congregation.

  Thought I Was Out Of The Woods

  well today i was having lunch with my mother, who is inactive, and hasn't been to the hall in a couple of years.

  recently she's been hounded by the elders, because of all of the christmas decorations.

  even though she hasn't disassociated herself, and she won't because she doesn't want to alienate herself from her family, she attends another church.

  how much does religion factor with who you decide to have a relationship with?

  of course as a jw you weren't supposed to marry or even date someone who wasn't a dub.

  but now that you're out how much does that matter?

  has anyone ever thought about going to a meeting just for the hell of it?

  i mean maybe while out of town, putting on a nice suit.

  sitting in the front row, even answering a question.

  Check This Out

  i'm working out at the ymca with my sister, and she spots an old dub friend of mine playing b'ball on the court.

  i had become really close friends with him during my high school years (about seven years ago), and lost touch a couple of years ago.

  anyway, he much like most other jw's in my life i never really had one last "huraaah" before i formally da'd myself in 2004, so chances are he never got the word.

  where you the one who answered the question word, for word from the paragraph?.

  where you the little kiss @$$ who would more or less read the answer verbatum, but would also tie in a scripture?.

  for the past few weeks at work, i've been talking with a co-worker about my life as jw, and the doctrine.

  he was fairly interested since he had studied the dubs in the past.

  during one of our discussions about religion, we got on the subject of revelation.

  actually i posted my story here one time before... but under a different screen name.

  since then i have forgotten my former screen name, and password.

  the limits of my laziness meant that i would rather create another screen name, and tell my sad, pathetic and uninteresting, story over again.
