if you're a young practising jw, maybe you've read the glossy brochure released in 2002 entitled, "youths - what will you do with your life?
did the idea of a full-time career in "jehovah's service" as a bethelite, ministerial servant, or international quick-build volunteer appeal to you?
or maybe you had other interests - maybe you were already at college or studying for a degree.
I have nothing but pity for those who buy the WT line and waste their lives peddling this crap.
Yeah, I was amoung those who bought it. It really derailed my future. At this point, I seriously doubt that I will be able to have enough in the bank to retire on, and will most likely be working into my 70's.

if it is correct, and please point me in the right direction here, the end paragraph seems to indicate that if the shiite population win the election in iraq it would serve to tighten the bond between iraq and iran.. do you feel that a tighter bond with iran is good for the plan to bring democracy to the region?

It seems, at least from this article, that the Shiites are in favor of a democratic government as long as it respects the principals of Islam.
That is actually something that I was thinking about. If at the end of the elections the Shiite population won the majority of the seats, I would fear that the Sunni population would cry foul and a civil war would follow. That country is pretty fragile, and if that were the case, the entire country would turn into one big meat grinder. Horrifying to even contemplate.
With the embassy getting hit today as well as 8 different polling stations, I just hope they can hold it together long enough to give the new government a chance.

I always wanted to watch The Outer Limits and The Twilight Zone but couldn't. However, for some weird reason we were allowed to stay up past midnight and watch Creature Features on channel 2 (bay area) with Bob whathisname. You know, the chap with the coke bottle bottom glasses that always had a big fat cigar in his mouth?

it has been a wierd day.
i only slept about four hours last night - just wide awake.
this morning, the czarina and i went to dog training school.
This is another real good one. It helps you sleep, and has a muscle relaxant in it. Many chiropractors recommend this for people with stress and or soft tissue injuries.

edited to add; not for pregnant ladies, but pregnant dads can take them.
if you still go to meetings, take a good look around the kingdom hall next time you attend and think about what you are.
likely seeing.. many witnesses will sit in a half-awake mode - despite confronting a risk to life or limb in attending, because of bad weather or the sort.
of neighborhood the hall is located in.

Oh and...
I was on Zoloft, 100 mg/day for the last 10 years or so that I was a JW. I also weighed over 400 pounds.Ditto on the first count and roughly 280lbs.

they are scripturally trained to prove to others why they are "in the truth".
from your vantage point, how can you show this is untrue??
DEUTERONOMY 18:22I agree with you in principle, Honesty. But, I believe that the Society has been very careful on this topic. They have tried very hard to phrase their literature so that they refer to the GB as similar to a prophet, but without coming right out and saying it. They are slippery. Does anyone know if they ever came right out and called themselves a prophet? I don't have a CD with all the info on it. Jean
