Very interesting. I found that article. http://www.religion-online.org/showarticle.asp?title=1916 Now maybe the pendulum swings the other way in misuse of religious titles.

The Russian and Greek Orthodox along with Anglicans may have that practice, but the Lutherans, Baptists, Presbyterians, Congregationalists and Methodists never did. And of course it is universal in the cathaholic religion.

Radical Apostasy v Liberal Apostasy
by diamondblue1974 inin the wake of the 'dannygate' issue it made me think about the impact of apostasy and it various forms and on some level how it equates to the feminist movement and its development over the years.. initially, the radical feminist movement were and are the typical man hating, bra burning cross section who undoubtedly moved womens rights foward significantly and to some degree still do.
without the radical feminist movement, the likelihood of the liberal and more balanced feminist movements ever existing would have been uncertain if not improbable.
so indirectly the feminist movement owes a lot to those radicals who were out there burning bra's and linching men (i was joking about the last bit).

All great leaders were at one time considered radical.

In case no one here is aware, there have been concerted efforts in the last several years to unify the various factions of Babylon. The Presbyterians have been in the news on a number of occasions recently involving, among other things, ordination of women and socially undesirable types as I recall. I've attended a couple of their churches in the past but it's been quite a while, but never was the head pastor called father. Was wondering if this was part of re-unification.

jehovahs witnesses and the un relationship
by jacethespace infor years i studied the awake and watchtower literature and at times wondered to myself why [ esp in the awake] do they keep quoting the un so much when they are saying the un is satans tool.i got more curious when i read an awake main article which was practically dedicated to the un, all about the uns projects, etc.then it all made sense when i discovered that the tower had had a realtionship of some sort with the un.when i spoke to the elders they seemed non the wiser but looked into it and came back with info saying it was just a library card for the info section.which i was suspicous of,especially when the elder told me this year that " the un thing is old news anyway so why bring that up".. does anyone have any further info on this or documents?
i had heard that american congregations had been sent letters from bethel explaining this, is that true?
because as far as i know british congregations didnt recieve any letters or anything about this.. jacethespace..
