  I GOT A WONDERFUL REPLY TO MY DA LETTER!!!

  hi there friends, i'm just jumping out of my skin with an email i just received from my older sister in reponse to this letter that i posted to my family just last week http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/87881/1.ashx.

  this is the response i received just now;"hey babyi got your letter.

  i cant write very much now but i just wanted to let you know i received it and i was very moved.

  Thanks again everyone...and Sphere I appreciate that you might see it necessary to cushion me from the future respone this might produce. She is still very much involved with the org, and I know that her response will of course be from that perspective. But her reply suggests that I reached her somewhere inside, I couldn't have hoped for anymore than that.

  it's me again...most of you don't remember me, but i am in need of personal experiences and comments that you may help me out with.

  i met someone online who has apparently turned out to be a good associate of mine.

  however, she has informed me that though she has her own beliefs and hates religion itself, she does like to get different perspectives on what people believe.

  Hi Fiveshadows, I can undestand why you feel a strong need to inform your friend, I think we would all react the same in this situation! But perhaps you could redirect her to this website, tell her to be openminded to the information she is reading, so that she can get a balanced view and make a decision for herself. Perhaps give her just some background on the people that post here.

  in the last week i have had my disassociation from the cult announced and taken over as manager at a new place of employment.

  That is classic isn't it Dustin! You know what you will do well to always hold your head up with pride despite how these (poor) dubs treat you at first. You can be truly confident that you have made the right decision, as you mentioned on a previous thread it is a truly empowering and confidence building decision. Why should they make us feel awkward and ashamed when we come into contact with them, it is their laws not ours that make the situation awkward afterall. Good for you, and don't ever be afraid to speak the "truth" to anyone who seeks an explanation for the source of your joy...what was that scripture along those lines? Had a similar experience at my work over the weekend, will send it to you in a message when I've some time later froglett

  Thankyou everyone, she is such a great person really, that's what makes it all the more tough in a way. She really does try to be open and accepting but at the end of the day the laws are black and white. I wish she could be unleashed from that burden, perhaps one day she will be.

  heya, I've had the same problem, I've tried numerous times to upload a new pic, but I can still only see the old one of me in a white top. Although I'm using different computers all the time on the University network, so I spose the old pic is still up?? Don't seem to have had any success in overwriting it???

  This is the response I received just now; "hey baby I got your letter. I cant write very much now but I just wanted to let you know I received it and I was very moved. I'm glad you found the courage to write your feelings. I think it was good for all of us. I'm hoping it will help us all to air some repressed feelings. I will write back to you properly very soon but I just wanted to acknowledge receipt of the letter so that you didnt think I didnt pay any attention to it. love you precious, A" (-older sister)

  .........threads that have copies of official wbts letters and documents or anything else that may help me compose a letter to elder father.

  i am 32 years old and still cannot communicate to him verbally how i feel.

  so i am going to write it down.

  Hi jwNOT, here is a post to the letter I drafted to my family only the week before last...well actually it took me many many drafts over the course of months to finally get to one I was happy with http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/87881/1.ashx ...mine doesn't really contain any anti-WT theory as such, more just my view of the emotional aspects of our relationship.
  

  ...I can only recommend you take your time with it, because you may not get another chance to express yourself so freely. It will be a very good experience for you to be be able to do this for yourself. Just keep in mind that its good to pluck words/lines from another person's letter if it helps you to find the right words, but make sure your final draft is truly the way you feel.

  There's another poster's letter I think will be great for you to read...but will ask them before I presume it's ok to post the link.

  GET INTOUCH WITH YOUR FAMILY DAY

  there has been a number of discussions lately about not just accepting being shunned by family so i was thinking why not set aside a yearly day to get in touch with family...send a card,text,email to parents and siblings etc not saying anything controversial...just being nice..saying we miss them we love them and anytime they want to meet or write or visit they would be more than welcome..it other words dont treat them like they treat you..do you think that it is a good idea...if so reply here but also spread the word.....if this has been suggested before please excuse me...im new to the world.

  lets make it 10th of may every year...dont think there are any other holidays on that date

  yer crumper you're sooo right! I know my families jw/non-jw ask about me frequently...I can only imagine the responses they give at present, "no there doesn't seem to be any sign of her returning" respondent: "oh that's a shame, but hang in there and keep praying about it" blah blah blah...but if they had recent info to suggest that I was well and truly getting on with my life, it would have to come up...and as you say they couldn't help but feel some sort of complex for not having responded. Know what you mean about your sisters coming to joing you, wouldn't that just be too perfect, I've 4 myself and my arms are open to all of themv

  Update on whyamihere and the little guy

  whyamihere and my son's little guy will be coming home from the hospital (hopefully) later this afternoon.

  he has regained 2 lbs.
