the faithful and discreet slave....... who are they really?
by primitivegenius ini was asked.......... since i dont belive what the witlessness do.... who do i consider to be the faithful and discreet slave?
now im not ashamed to admit i havent quite figured that out yet, so my reply was, it could be any minister who truely looks out for their congregation.
so my question is this....... what and who do those scriptures represent?

I just typed this up on another post, didn't see much point in repeating myself :)...
Who really is the faithful and discreet slave who the master has appointed over his domestics? A very ambiguous and vague turn-of-phrase that appears only once in the bible. I put it to you that this is just as stated merely a turn of phrase. There is nothing to back up the WT’s interpretation of this representing a small body of men who have an intense effect on the lives of the WT followers.
The WT also heavily criticises the Catholic Church for it’s putting the Pope between them and their god. I have to ask how it is that this is any different from the WT putting the GB between them and Jehovah? Witnesses are told that they can not reach Jehovah except through them. If they attempt to they are labelled as “apostates”, which means “leaving god”…there is no allowance by them for remaining with god, but not mediated through them.

Naturally I’m all for supporting those who wish to leave the WT org, but I don’t necessarily think that it should be up to us to necessarily prove to you why you should. It’s your responsibility to continue re-evaluating what it is you base your JW faith in, and to continually re-educate with new information that comes along on a matter that is having a profound effect on your life.
Having said that though these are the key issues imo…

Then there’s the UN issue, which us “apostates” have gotten plenty of easy mileage out of. The WT has shown immense contradiction and double-standards in their policy to secretly become a member of the UN for a decade up until 2001. In doing so they agreed to support and promote the charter of the UN for kickbacks that helped advance their own work. This all despite the fact that many thousands of Malawians were raped and murdered for holding political party cards, which they were instructed not to hold by the WT, even though they were more or less the equivalent of a passport. Following a leak of this huge contradiction the WT withdrew its membership from the organisation that they preach represents the wild beast in the book of Revelation that will destroy the harlot of false religion and persecute Jehovah’s Witnesses.

I could tell you a story about one very wealthy elder who befriended a CO the extent that he and his wife would drive over to neighboring congos to take the CO out to dinner while he was serving over there. When I asked him about that once, he said there was no one in that particular congo who could afford to take the CO and his wife out to eat (well, sure, if your destination is a 5-star restaurant). Can you imagine?
I bet there are plenty of CO's who've used their prestige & power to live like kings of the R&F Wily. I'm sure though that there must at least be a few who believe they're intentions are honorable.
I never really understood the purpose of the CO/DO, except for reporting functions...but surely you don't need to spend a fortune on leasing cars, and allowances just for that when you've got stacks of willing elders. Like you say their visits are absolutely whilstlestop, and unless you're close to the center of the innersanctions the guy wouldn't even know you're alive...

so anyways...it seems that most of the GB are American, or at last naturalised at some point before being "appointed"...so much for represenation of the "world-wide-brotherhood"...sounds more like representation of convenience to me

Hi Es babe, 7weeks of nautea babe sounds totally horrible for you :(...I want to say I feel your pain babe, but having not had any lil frogletts myself it's difficult for me to relate. The most nauteous I've ever been was a 24hr vile hangover from a weekend bender, but that doesn't much help your case does it ;)
We do though however appreciate what you're doing for he country!: one for mum, one for dad, and one for the country!...as Johnny Howard says hehe...so that means after this lil one you've only got one more to go hehe
Take good care of yourself babe, and I hope the others suggestions help you some, or at least help to alleviate some of the discomfort.
Much love to you and your family, frog x
