Hi all...I've just come out from my major Sociology exam for uni, and just want to revert into a small ravene and curl up and die:(( Sociology is my major, and favourite subject. I've been at the top all semester with my results from papers I have written, and hoped to ace the exam. I read over the exam questions and I knew the material very well, and was very confident in writing my response. It was my first uni exam so unbeknowns to me I didn't realise that some disciplines don't allow you to write your reponse in pencil...guess who wrote their whole paper in pencil?! mwah. It occurred to me, near the end of my writing that I should in fact check that it was okay to use pencil (why I didn't ask before I do not know). I inquired to be told that no, as a matter of security the exam should not be written in pencil. I nearly died at this point as you can imagine. Fortunatley I had written my exam responses in about half the allocated time. The examiner gave me a new booklet and asked me to rewrite my response. I got 2/3 the way through and realised I wasn't going to finish it in time, I called the examiner over and asked to speak with the head lecturer, to which she responded that my work in pencil wouldn't be invalid, it was only a matter of security!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I sat there and rewrote all that work for nothing. I had planned to spend the rest of the time embelishing my work, fixing it, and adding to it, but because of this I didn't have time. Don't get me wrong I know it was my own fault for not reading the instructions properly, thus the reason why I'm severely beating myself up over it. I could just cry thinking about it:( sad froglett

Hi Too-op:)
I agree 100% that you shouldn't take it lying down from these sneaky b*astards. I dare say from how you described this elder, he might assume that by your absence that you are admitting fault. So make sure you get that letter out in priority paid first thing!
I'm sending your letter to our lawyer for legal counsel. We will need to arrange a meeting time with you so our lawyer can also attend. Please know that we will not allow our names to be slandered in any way that causes others to treat us differently, and will take legal action if that happens. (or something like that)
I knew an elder that actually wrote a similar letter on behalf of his daughter who was called to a JC, and I know for a fact that it worked. No harm in giving it your best. Either way don't let them get the better of you, let them know that you will not accept their means of discipline. If all if this fails, then at least you have tried. Wish you all the best! Enjoy your b'day party, your little girl will love you for it:) frog xx -

I have a question
by Es inhey all i was chatting with a friend the other day he is baptized but basically a fader but his wife is still very much in the borg.anyway we were talking bout the new way of announcing d\f and d\a.
and he raised a really goo point.
the fact that they now announce such and such is no longer a jw does that mean if that person wanted to back to the borg they would have to be baptized again to make them a jw????

Frog
Hey Es:)
I have heard (in the past) that you if do get reinstated, that you can opt to be re-baptised), this would just be reaffirming your dedication, and isn't at all necessary. I'm sure there are probably some elders who would object to this. I'm surprised though that the WTBTS legal team have left this statement so open, it is rather ambiguous. frog x

Your score = 134 EIQ Score 134 What does your score mean? Your Emotional IQ is excellent - much higher than average. This means that, in general, you are able to express your feelings clearly in appropriate situations. You effectively communicate, interact with others and deal with stress. These skills will certainly bring you long-term benefits such as stronger relationships, better health and personal happiness.

What to wear to the District Convention
by sass_my_frass ini'm just gearing up to head off to the district convention.
i was worried about the shunning thing but then realised, how about i just don't wear the uniform, and dress like a study instead?
with a wig and sunnies none of my people will notice me, and strangers will treat me nicely and share their sandwiches and offer me bible studies.

Must be an early convention this year Sass?...
Wow catchthis, I suppose it might not have surprised me that, that was the custom when I was in, but now that I'm out it just makes me laugh! it always p*ssed me off that you guys got all the cool jobs, while we just had to sit back and take in all that lucious 'spiritual food', or steal somebodies baby so that you had a legit excuse for milling in the foyer;)...what a power trip some of those attendents were on lol! frog

Wow! I'm completely blown away that there are databases of people's up-to-date personal records compiled for public access! This is illegal down under because of privacy laws. The tax office and electoral commission will no longer give out private information to the countries leading banks, on the moral basis that everyone has the right to privacy. I guess anything goes in the states! Although in legitimate cases such as 'Angry's' I can understand the benefits. Good luck with your search 'Angry'

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THROUGH A SCAM?
by hubert inwhile riding home from work today, i noticed a "car for sale" in someones yard.
it was the same yard that i saw a car for sale in last year, and made me think back to it.. last year around this time, i was kind of looking for a used car or truck to replace the one that was literally falling apart before my eyes, when i noticed this car in a driveway, with a sign on it, saying ....."for sale by owner".. so, i stopped and got out to look at it, and as i approached it, i noticed it had a "dealer" plate on it!.
i immediately made an about face, and headed for my old truck, and took off.

My dad's obsessed with get rich quick scams...so one day when a pyramid scheme offer came in the mail by dad was determined to get in on it. He tried to enroll my help to deal with typing up a letter, getting names together and mass circulating this thing...he even generously offered me a cut haha. Naturally I laughed heartedly, much to my fathers disappointment. Within a couple of weeks a news report came over exposing the scam, and warning people they could be convicted if they engaged in it...
