Have you ever found yourself trying to induce the sensation after you've experienced it? I caught myself out doing this the night before last! The thing with "it" is that there isn't just he one trigger. Seems to complexly tied up within the nervous system and neurons, and if they, and perhaps multiple other factors meet on a certain level, you end up with that lovely sensation:)

Brain chemicals I suspect...
by Frog incan anyone explain to me (clinical psych perhaps?
) where exactly the sensation comes from that appears to start at the base of your neck and go right through your body, when you've been touched either physically or reached emotionally by someone you care about it?
(edit to add: usually unexpectedly) .

Do you ever feel guilty?
by pratt1 inafter reading hs topic of shunning, it got me thinking - how many people have i hurt over the years by shunning, marking, labeling as "bad association"?
when i hear the stories of my fellow posters, it really makes me regret how super rightoeus, guillible and judgemental, i was back then, when i had no real life experience or any right to judge anyone elses choices or mistakes in life.. i know i can't change the past, but i am sincerely sorry to anyone i shunned back then and although i know my family will never change their belief in the "troof" i will always make it a point to let them know just how damaging the practice of shunning really is and how it can even lead some one to suicide.. i am sure if i had put a bullet in my head when i was dfed their view on the "troof would be different today.. by the way they never shunned me.
"family business" clause.. is anyone else guilty of this?

I'm sure we're probably all guilty of this at one time or other when we were in the org. I think it's important that we take responsibility for our actions and not just state that we were brainwashed dubs. It's important to reconnect with people we've hurt in this way if we can, I'm sure they would be more than understanding, since they themselves probably did the very same thing when they were associated. yep, I always promised myself I'd make it up the next month, but of course never did;) you had to do it to avoid getting singled out by the elders as a weak one amongst the flock that obviously needs some encouragement. Must have been so obvious to my bookstudy conductor, since I very rarely achieved the 'national average' in the last few months before my fade, lol! Frog x

I don't know how to explain it more clearly than that. Alls I know is that it is the best feeling in the world! a real sensory overload, but different to an orgasm, not that this Frog's ever had one;))hehe. I've never done amphetamines, LSD, Shrooms or the majority of mind warping drugs, but I've been around a number of friends who have, and I get the impression this natural sensation is probably the equivalent of some drug induced trips. Can anyone else relate to this? Another example would be the first strokes when my mother ran her fingers through my hair as a child. Frog x

Best day for assembly?
by gringojj inwell we are going to the assembly this weekend in amherst, mass.
my wife and i want to go on the day when they say the stuff that really pushes obedience and stuff so we can really see what they are all about.
what does everyone think the best day to go is and why?
-
Frog
The best day to go to a JW assembly would be December 32nd;)
Sunday afternoon is great if you don't mind patronising conversion speeches. If you really want to get a glimpse of true dub-to-dub speak I'd suggest Saturday, it's a little bit more "real"...or you could just stay at home, personally I'd recommend that;) Frog x

Phone Witnessing...
by RichieRich inin my congregation, there is a well established group that does phone witnessing every thursday.
the society actually encourages us to try other avenues of ministry, however it seems like phone witnessing is hurting more than its helping.... even i, the covert apostate, don't mind phone witnessing.
i mean whats not to love?air conditioningfoodsitting around and talkinggirlsdid i mention food?.

Where I came from phone witnessing was only for hypocondriac ol' ladies who used it to get out of door-to-door!
Seriousy though, what on earth would I think if a dub called my private line trying to solicit personal information out of me to meet up in person?!...I'd think peadophile, rapists, lunatic, religious nut???

i would get rid of that pesky bible...
...er, oh wait, they've already done that. hmm.
TPS??? I'm guessing you don't mean they've put the NWTOTHS out of print?! You mean they've replaced the real "word" with GB speak??
I'd have to say encouraging secondary research outside of the WT library...
