  What does Russell, Masons and Satan have in common?

  What part of the bold text do you not understand?

  This was part of a speech that he made back in the early part of the century. It's in a special 1913 Convention Report of the Internal Bible Students. Under the subject of "The Temple of Gods" in a discourse by Pastor Russell reported verbatim on pages 120-127.

  Oh did you also know that the Russell family founded the "Skull and Bones" secret society at Yale University? Never heard of it? Try googling it. I'll give you a hint. It's not a christian society.

  what happens when an organization claiming to be the only ones who speak for god has its veil pulled back so that many, perhaps for the first time, see the fallible humanity behind the claim?

  First God is created in the mind by mixing our own idealism and cultural stereotypes, then we imagine speaking to him when in fact we are vocalizing a censored inner dialogue to ourselves.

  I see this happening all the time. This approach is a total turn-off to the concept of God.

  Now that she's out, she often mentions how much closer she feels to god.

  Yeah I feel the same way. The more I distance myself from the WT teachings, the closer I feel to God.

  I always pictured him to be this shining entity sitting on a throne somewhere out in space. Stern and judgemental. It was difficult for me to feel any kind of closeness to someone like that. I think the way the WT portrays him has a lot to do with that perception.

  Now I feel that we are within him and he is within us. I believe there is a scripture that says that somewhere. I see him more as a reflection of Jesus than at anytime before.

  I think it depends who you are. Standards seem to change depending on your previous activity.

  If you were someone that was a gung ho pioneer and reduced your activities to 10 hours a month and missed 1 mtng a wk, you could be considered weak.

  But if you were inactive and doing 10 hrs a month and missing 1 mtng a week, you would be a good publisher.

  The Future of WTBTS: A prediction.

  in light of the recent statistics and change in awake publication, i have the following thoughts:.

  1. the work in western lands is steady or decreasing.

  2. foreign territory in western lands is increasing proportionately.. 3. therefore, the established, wealthier population of publishers in western lands is decreasing more rapidly, being replaced by foreign/special language territories.. 4. a majority of the financial support for publication comes from the decreasing base of wealthy western culture.. 5. the pressure for material in foreign languages is increasing.. 6. the cost of the preaching work is increasing, due to #5, and the increased costs of transportation due to oil prices, and the economics of electronic transmittals reducing the global demand for shipping.. 7. a large portion of the most zealous young peple switch to foreign territory, reducing the activity of established congregations in western lands.. 8. due to #7, #1-6 will increase in the future.. i predict: (1) further seperation of printing and operations into branches.

  I dont know who Stafford is but with quotes like these:

  No one human alive today is given authority by the Scriptures to require that others accept all of the different teachings of an organization in order to be considered a true Christian. A person's belief in the importance of God's name should not be affected by whether they accept or reject the Watchtower's doctrine concerning 1914 CE.

  How in the world is he still accepted as a JW by the org? Maybe he's contributing a large amount of "unrighteous riches"?
