i found an active web site: http://www.religion.qc.ca/fiches/fiche134.htm which indicates that the watchtower society is/was a member of the international federation of the religions and minority philosophies.

this website is in french.

if you use google to navigate to it, google will translate into english for you.. this is an association founded in switzerland and france on october 7, 1992, and is directed against the association's anti-sects.

Hmmm. No Watchtower Society? IBSA? CCoJW? I dont know could this be a splinter group, or someone just calling themselves by this name? Something a little more concrete linking them to the Society would be good.

the organization teaches that we leave everyone and everything else behind when we join christianity (also known as the "truth").

your father, mother, brother and sister all have to be given up to become a "real" christian.

friends that you grew up that are not of the same religion must be abandoned.

Jehovahs Witness and the internet

i was reading another thread of the high # of defections within the org, and this lead me to question:.

when and if, do you think the org will totally ban jw's use of the internet?.

i think it will happen, they are starting to see a big drop and need to curtail it some how, and they know that many surf the web and come across sites like this, and once people discover all the coverups and the "new light" stuff and personal stories, their are going to be questions that lead to being df'd or da's.

Never, the web is too pervasive in western society. It'd be like banning TV. Kiddos now have to use the web for school, and how many of you have atleast high speed access at work?

It's a sad fact for them, they cant get rid of it, and to try and do so would just alienate more people. I think they will just stick to the warnings and watch their kingdom slip away.

Thank goodness for this great tool to share knowledge and ideas around the world.

i remember my immeadiate thoughts.

Even if submitting to authority is difficult for us, let us prayerfully apply ourselves to being obedient and submissive to the divinely constituted authority within the congregation.

What kind of overseers are these prospective members, who are in line for enlarged responsibilities as the chieftain class? The prophecy found at Isaiah 32:1, 2 says: "Look! This prophecy is being fulfilled today as Christian elders?anointed and other sheep?work to protect the flock from such ?rainstorms? as persecution and discouragement.

18 In Bible times some chieftains had much authority, others less. Today, elders of the great crowd have widely varying responsibilities. Some serve in one congregation; others serve many congregations as traveling overseers; others serve whole countries as Branch Committee members; others directly assist various committees of the Governing Body. In the new world, Jesus will appoint "princes in all the earth" to take the lead among Jehovah?s worshipers on earth. (Psalm 45:16) No doubt he will select many of these from among the faithful elders of today. Because these men are proving themselves now, he will choose to entrust many with even greater privileges in the future when he reveals the role of the chieftain class in the new world.

Did your KH sound system ever pick up CB radio?

i remember mine did, way back in the early- to mid-80's.

it was always funny to all of a sudden hear a trucker hollering out the f-word in the middle of the service meeting!

man, if could only imagine the deer-in-the-headlights look of panic in the eyes of the elders.

Yes, radio a few times and CB once.

Here's what happened in the CB incident. My dad had just installed a new CB in our car (station wagon) During the School my aunt goes outside and starts playing around with the CB. "Breaker 19 good buddies, yall come back with a radio check?" gets blasted over the PA in my aunt?s voice. Hahha my dad sent a kid out to go tell her to stop messing with the CB. She didn?t come back in to the hall the rest of the night.

At our assem hall, the broadcast frequency for the program is real close to a rap station. It was so cool during Jaracz part to have Jay-Z doing Big Pimpin.

The article is 3/15 Lessons Jesus taught Are they practical for you? I wouldnt say it deals with the Memorail, except the back page has a memorail invitation type thingy on An event to remember.

I've done eastern style meditation for years, inducing a trance. The student tonight read the scripture about the need to get possession of your vessel and how you cant do that if your in a trance. Shoot nothing has helped my be 'in possession of my vessel' more than meditaion. Nothing bad ever happeded to me... other than I became an apostate. Oh crap.
