i have other sheep.
john 10:16 is one of those overused scriptures that seem to prove the dual destiny doctrine.
(john 10:16) 16 ?and i have other sheep, which are not of this fold; those also i must bring, and they will listen to my voice, and they will become one flock, one shepherd.
Holy Crap!
Eph 2 speaks of a wall that fenced the between the two folds/pens/enclosures. That wall was the Law. Christ removed the wall between the two sheep pens.
That is excellent. Thanks!
where?s jesus?.
i?m really concerned about the governing body.
what if they break an arm whilst patting themselves on the back all the time?.
Where?s Jesus?
I?m really concerned about the Governing Body. What if they break an arm whilst patting themselves on the back all the time?
We hear more about them and how great they are but little about Jesus and how important he is. I?m looking at the Memorial outline and there is little about Jesus, but a large section with the little flock/FDS. Quote: As part of the Kingdom arrangement, [the anointed] will channel untold blessings to obedient humans. Didn?t Jesus say keep doing this in remembrance of you guys?
Just as egregious example of this is found in the March KM.
Conducting Progressive Bible Studies
?Prayers at a bible study need not be lengthy, but they should be specific. Besides seeking God?s blessing on the study and giving thanks for the truths learned, it is fitting to give praise to Jehovah as the source of instruction. We can also include expressions that reflect our sincere interest in the student and our appreciation for the organization that Jehovah is using.?
What? No mention of the head, king, ransomer, high priest? What about Matt 28:18? So we should praise and be thankful for this FDS, but not mention Jesus? Bullock! I?m kinda sick to my stomach now.

They tell us to look at the context when they want to prove something, then they just extract, rip, tear these verses right out when it suits them. This is actually more irritating than any UN scandal or 1975 false prophecy.

The idea is that there is a little flock (the anointed/144000/FDS) and the other sheep. (those with the earthly hope)
Is this an accurate interpretation of Jesus words or a verse grossly taken out of context?
Who was Jesus addressing?
Jesus in Chapter 9 had just healed a man born blind. When the man confessed this to the Pharisees he was thrown out of the synagogue. (Disfellowshipped) This caused Jesus to search the man out and give him the opportunity to be his follower. When the Pharisees find out they ask Jesus: ?We are not blind also, are we? Chapter 10 is Jesus? reply to the Pharisees.
He calls himself the fine shepherd and likens himself to the door to the sheep?s pen. He says the Pharisees are like the, hired men who would flee from a wolf instead of protect the sheep, stranger, and thief who harm the sheep. Who are the sheep?
An account at Matthew 15 sheds light on this. A Sidonian woman asks Christ help in healing her daughter. Jesus response?
(Matthew 15:24) 24 In answer he said: ?I was not sent forth to any but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.?
Clearly then the sheep to which Jesus was referring in John are the Jews, why else would he have called the Pharisees thieves and hired men? So who then would be the other sheep not of this fold in verse 16? Everyone else. The gentiles. They too would listen to his voice and become one flock under one shepherd.
This is further seen be the response of the Jews to what Jesus said.
(John 10:19-21) 19 Again a division resulted among the Jews because of these words. 20 Many of them were saying: ?He has a demon and is mad. Why do YOU listen to him?? 21 Others would say: ?These are not the sayings of a demonized man. A demon cannot open blind people?s eyes, can it??
To the Pharisees this would have sounded demonic. The Gentiles being in the same flock as the Jews was a ridiculous concept. To others it would remind them of God?s promise to Abram, that all the nations would be blessed by his seed.
So it would seem to me that the dubs took this one verse completely out of context to fit their 2 destinies doctrine, and elevate the FDS above the other sheep.
Comments? Forgive if this has been posted before, this just hit me during the WT today.

there was never an announcement made.
i wrote them a letter not a da letter, but essentially i told them that me and my family simply wanted to "cease to be involved with the faith" at the time on their web site it said that you would not be shunned if you simply ceased to be involved with the faith.
i also said if they made an announcement that i would sue them for slander.
It is safe to say that if your PO told you there was no announcement, then you are only inactive at this point & induhviduals in the congo have made their own choice to shun you (god help them) out of fear that you might poison them with apostate thinking.
If you go ask the elders about your status, you will, in their eyes be placing yourself back under their jurisdiction and will feel that you are accountable to them for your actions since you sent the letter. If you go back you will need to explain yourself, and if you tell the truth, (apostacy) they will form a judicial committee and hear your case. If they think you are repentant, you will be let back in under restrictions and judicial reproof. If not then you will be disfellowshipped.

i see that some people feel that jwd is a godsend.
they've learned so much in so short of time.....have you been helped by this site and other similar ones here on the internet?
I learnt there are a lot of ppl who are in and seem to be good dubs on the outside, but wish they had a way out.
Now instead of looking at all the bros and sis as dubs, I see them as possible fellow closet apostates like me.
Thanks JWD.

The local cong is probably the only ones to have any info on you. The society would have no info on you unless you served as an elder, MS, or in the full time work or had a judical hearing in the past.
You could move, but could not just like join another congo. They would need to get your publisher record card from you last congo. And the last congo would send a letter of introduction to the new congo informing them of your status. That is unless you pretended you were never a witness. If you tried to come back at this point, there might be some kind of inquiry made by the BOE as to whether you committed some sin during your inactivity, or that led to your inactivity. If many in the congo view you as an apostate, I can almost assure you there will be atleast an inquiry if not a full blown judical hearing.
If no announcement was made then you are considered inactive and the society dont know or care what your personal status is.
