Matthew and Ephesians belonged to different literary traditions and would not have necessarily used the same metaphors in the same way

I'm very new to actually looking at the bible from a scholarly point of view, so bear with me :)
Would belonging to different literary traditions mean that for example the metaphors in Matt would have no bearing on Ephs? Like the writer of Ephs wouldn?t have read john 10:16? Sorry?

I've been very impressed with your posts Leolaia. Esp. showing that early Christians at least read the apocrypha, like the link between Jude and 1Enoch. I find this fascinating

I thinks for some, uh, most, there is a certain security in the scripting. I've been thinking about this alot. Yes every single meeting is scripted. Every talk is based on a WT article or WT outline.

I know this is off the topic, but hell its my topic. Most bros when they give a talk are basically paraphrasing the article or outline the talk is based on. Gwd I hates that. The friends coulda read the material before the meeting and stay home and get the same spiritual guidance.

i was just watching a sit-com and someone made a reference to boxer briefs as being a sign a guy is gay.

i like boxer briefs!

they are the best of both worlds... a combination of boxers and briefs.

i am wondering if any posters out there know what do jw's believe about the un now.

do they believe that it is the beast of rev and the disgusting thing mentioned in daniel or do they feel that it is just another organization with faults and errors but can be used in a nice way by jw's?

when i told my mom about the un scandal she said she had heard about it and the elders told her the library card excuse.

Yep its still the Scarlet colored wild beast.

Then we cant trust them for spiritual food at the right time.

She mentioned the scriptures about the weeds growing along side the wheat in Jesus' parable and said that JW's will have corrupt JW's alongside of them until Jesus comes back to cleanse the cong of God.

Actually the weeds are applied only to Christendom not current apostates and god did clean the org in 1918/19 according to half of the prophecy in the bible. :)

My wife says the same thing, "maybe there are apostates in brooklyn, they've been there before. Remember Franz's nephew?"

My answer is then there have always and still are apostates in brooklyn.
