My Jewish brother said that this is a jubilee year, which means the year has one more month, so it pushes the to April 23/24 depending on which calendar you use.

could someone explain to me why they held the memorial on the wrong date?
this week the jews celebrate purim--not pesach.
we are actually in the month of adar.

sorry folks if i missed this somewhere before, but isn't nisan 14 supposed to line up with our current calendar on april 23rd?
i didn't go to the memorial last night so i do not know if they tried explaining this difference.
i always thought that nisan 14 was the date that they used to celebrate the memorial.
Passover's the 24th.
Passover begins on the 23rd.
First Seder - Night of Saturday, April 23
First Day - Sunday, April 24
Second Seder - Night of Sunday, April 24
Second Day - Monday, April 25
Seventh Day - Saturday, April 30
Eighth Day - Sunday, May 1
Some sites do say it begins on the 24th, but the site Igot the above info says othewise. I'll ask my jewish brother. He celebrates it with a sedar.

Okay, I just learned that even though I thought that Nissan 14 was on the 23rd this month, I come to find out from my Jewish brother that because it's a Jubilee year, the jewish calendar has an extra month in it, which makes Passover is not March 23rd, it's April 23rd. I called my brother freaking out because I thought last night was the 23rd and it was the 24th (helps to look at the calendar, brainless wonder that I am!), and I had thought I missed it and celebrated it with the dubs! Which I did, but my brother said that I didn't miss it and not to worry, just put the tasteless bread and Maneshevitz away for a month and all will be well, doh!!! And here I was touting to all of you about how the Dubs missed it by one day, turns out they missed it by a freaking month! Because they don't follow the jewish calendar, they don't go by the Jubilee year, which means they are not even in the month of nissan!

up until this evening i had thought teresa schiavo was in an unconcious state, lying on a bed with just a machine keeping her alive.
how wrong was i?
i saw her smiling and showing awareness of her surroundings.
Brummie,
Terry's hubby said she told him that if she were ever in a situation like that that he was to pull the plug, that she didn't want to live like that. This is what he is going by. I bet they did have that conversation. My hubby and I both have had it and we both agree that neither one of us wants to live like that. The problem is, many people say it, but they don't go and get the paperwork to back it up, so then the spouse is stuck trying to carry out their wishes without the proper paperwork to back up their story. I and hubby are going to go get living wills written up, just in case we ever find ourselves in this situation.

i went to the kingdom hall for the very last time.
i went in the door in my guns n roses t-shirt and ripped up lucky jeans, new earrings and goatee.
i went up to the po of the congregation and told him i needed to talk to him.
okay, that was the best DA letter i've seen yet!
Ash
i just wondered.
everyone seems to be slagging her off because she isn't the best thing since sliced bread in the prettiness stakes.
aren't we being a bit narrow minded here?
Really, I don't have any issue with Camilla in the looks department. God only knows I'm nothing to write home to mommy about. Personally I think it stinks that she can come between a woman and herunfaithfulhusband for years, claim him and the children after the woman?s death, and then become queen in her stead to boot! It reeks to high heaven, but that's just one person's opinion.
I think they were actually an item before he even met Diana, and because Camilla was a commoner, he was not permitted to marry her, so he just kept seeing her all throughout the marriage. I can't remember if Diana knew about her beforehand, but I do think the news did.

some of you know that i have a daughter with a language delay; she is 5 1/2 right now, but talks more like a 3-year old in many respects.
in fact, a great deal of her speech has been cut-and-paste phrases she picked up around the home or on tv.
she has recently been using some phrases in better context, so we've seen progress.
Bebu,
I know how you feel, my son had the same thing. He learned to read when he was 3 and read beautifully, but he could not speak once he turned away from the book. One thing he could always do was repeat what we would tell him to say, but on his own, he babbled like a baby. This went on until he was almost 7! He relied on us to help him form his sentences for a long long time.
He is now 11 and still has some difficulty making sentences, but he's better. He has picked up a stammer that I notice when he talks to himself he doesn't do it, but when he tries to tell me something, he can't get the words out without repeating a few 3 times.
I am hoping that he grows out of all of this stuff eventually.

the other day i was on a site....looking for a certian news clip i had seen where an older news guy get's mad at the news anchor that replaced him on air...anyway a hit came up reading old news anchor and i downloaded it.
after it was done downloading i started playing it.
this guy's handing out things to certain people he calls by name at a press conference.
Brooke touched on it a bit in her last post. I was told not to fear death because it might happen in the "great tribulation" but I didn't look forward to it and I didn't like the idea of having to watch "worldly" people die when the system ended...or having to clean it up...
Yep, this is something we were always told, that we'd probably have to go out and clean up all the dead bodies. On top of this. My mom was anointed, so not only did I fear the dead bodies outside, but that my mom's body would be inside with us!
Oh my lord! I just had a huge revelation sitting here. I have always been afraid of death, I don't like funerals, I don't like to talk about death, and now I know why! I suffered horribly with the knowledge that I'd have to bury my mother because she was going to drop dead in front of us when armageddon came cuz God was going to take her to heaven then. Oh my, this is a big understanding. I've got to go call my hubby! Wow!

Both my Uncle and my Grandfather committed suicide back in the 80's. They both used the same gun, but were about 7 years apart.
My grandfather had a revolver that he kept on top of a filing cabinet for protection in the office of his restaurant for the times when he had to take the money to the bank at the end of the day, and in case a robber ever tried to break in. My uncle used that gun on himself right in front of his wife. His daughter had entered the room just as he pulled the trigger. It was the most horrible thing our family had ever gone through. My mom and grandmother were actually on their way from AZ to FL when my dad got the call from my grandfather that my uncle had done it. When my mom and grandmother got there, my grandfather had to tell them both what had happend. My mom spent 2 days trying to clean up the mess. My uncle had lost almost all of the blood in his body by the time the paramedics got there. He was troubled and drug addicted and messed up, but we loved him and I often dream about him being alive.
My grandfather was the same way, he died because he missed his son and couldn't handle life anymore. He shot himself the same exact way that this man did. I loved my grandpa very much. He and I had a connection that no one else had because we had both been adopted and he always told me I was his special girl (this is NOT the grandfather who molested me, this is the non JW good one that I loved to pieces and still cry about today).
One solace that always got me through the dark days after they both passed was the knowledge that I'd get to see them alive again someday. I still hold onto that because I miss them terribly.

let me introduce max.
he's my avitar.
his official name is maxmilian san queue (no tail - he's a manx).
I have a zoo in my house :) I have 3 cats 1 dog and 2 birds. okay, that's not a lot but we live in a very small 2 bdrm apt. so the cats are taking over the joint heh.
My oldest animal is my dog. He will be 14 this year. He is a yorkie and I love him to pieces, the only problem is, he did not bond with me, he bonded with hubby, so he could care less if I come or go. He still is playful, and after he eats, he goes and gets his baby, which is a little stuffed multi colored dog and he runs around with it in his mouth, wanting us to throw it for him. He doesn't bring it back, so you have to chase him down, which is part of the game. His only problem is, he's a territory marker, so needless to say, we had to actually purchase the carpet in our new apartment when we moved in because it was brand new and we knew he'd ruine it. Needless to say, we will be buying a carpet steamer in a few weeks when hubbys tax money comes in.
My second oldest is going to be 11 this year and is a female cat that is polydactil, which means she has extra toes. She has mittens int eh front. She's a moose of a cat. Not necessarily fat, just huge. I saw her being born and her petit mom screamed bloody murder when she was born. She's a sweet kitty, she's black and grey striped. She loves to cuddle and loves to sleep in my arms. We got her fixed very young, probably the youngest I have ever fixed a cat and she is still a big baby.
The 3rd oldest is a male cat that is the longest cat I've ever seen. He's about 5. He's all black with a little white. We saw him at Petsmart in the ASPCA section where they were trying to give him away. He was due to be put down the next day because he was unplaceable due to one of his eyes is shrunken and he can't see out of it. Hubby is the one who said, we have to take him home, they are gonna kill him tomorrow! So we did and he's getting much better about cuddling.
The next in line is our baby cat that we brought home a year ago Christmas time from my mom's. My mom is notorious for finding strays, getting them fixed and finding them homes. Anyway, she found this little tiny grey kitten that was barely big enough to eat on her own in the middle of the street. She had been abandoned or something and my mom took her in and a few weeks later I saw her and fell in love with her and I brought her home from Los Angeles back to the Bay Area in our car on a leash. She was a perfect angel the whole trip. She slept on me just like a baby. She and the male are mates. They chase each other and tackle and play and lick each other, absolutely in love. She's still our little baby as she hasn't gotten really big due to a heart murmur. We are hoping she has grown out of it, and I need to take her in and get it checked.
Then we have 2 budgies (parakeets) that I never got trained, so they stay together in a huge cage. They don't do much but squack really loud when I'm trying ot talk on the phone. The louder I get, the louder they get. The grey female tries to eat them on a regular basis lol.
Hubby says we have a natural food chain amonst our babies. Too bad the cats are all bigger than my dog hehe
That's it for Ash's zoo.
Ash
P.S. I can't see anything right now because there is a big fluffy grey tail hanging right in front of my monitor cuz the little female loves sitting on top of my monitor and dangle her tail right in my view.
