You could get rid of all pioneers, publishers and eliminate all hours of service althgether and you would still have the current growth rate. They are merely breding them.

Should oil companies sacrifice for the country too?
by DavidChristopher inseems this is beginning to look like a crackhead/dealer relationship...shouldn't we be trying to wean ourselves from this addiction of oil?
if the we go down, so do the oil companies here.
is this a case of selling the house to prevent pawning the tv to make the house payment?.

MMM not sure but I think you should switch to DECAF.
I am as much a capitalist as the next American believe me. But we are a wasteful nation. This nation has the technology and resources to free ourselves from foreign oil dependence but we have been TO LAZY to do it. Consume yes, all for it. Wasteful, not necessary.

Lets say you went to a meeting, list what would irritiate you...
by JH in.
in my case, it was always the length of the meetings that bothered me.. no matter what meeting it is, you have to get there prepared, and that means lots of time reading the darn literature.. another thing that would irritate me, is all the magazines that come in faster than i can read.. i'll let you guys add to this list.. .

Americans are the most wasteful nation on the earth. As long as oil was cheap we saw no need to conserve or develop new technologies to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. We live in a throw away society. Car giving you problems, throw it away and get another one. We will not change our wasteful ways till there is pain, alot of pain and it is coming. And not to soon.

They would have the Watchtower study and the conductor would have one minute left and is still asking questions, like the 8th impromotu question on the last paragraph. I'm sitting there burning up when he could just end it, then the song and then some lame brother would give the same dull 5 minute prayer he has given over and over again.

What if the work would involve us in an unscriptural practice, such as answering phones at a gambling establishment? The source of pay and the location of the employment also enter into the picture. For example, would a Christian who is a self-employed contractor bid on a job that involves painting one of the churches of Christendom and thereby share in helping to promote false religion?-
I was in a congo in Colorado that sold its KH to the Catholic Church to be used as a bingo hall, I wonder if that counts.

DO SOMETHING
by ArtfulDodger ini see this site gets thousands of postings every day .. from literally thousands of members, mostly ex-dubs, from all over the world.. rather than simply go on moaning and whinging about the big nasty org why don't you all put your efforts into something positive ... do something.. ok - the org is evil .. but it exists ... and simply whining on about it doesn't change that.
with your efforts directed at something positive, you could do wonders for .
.for anything you choose.. hundreds of real charities could do with your support - to help the really needy .

Seems you lot waste all your time and energy moaning about the JW-Org ... what a waste.
Describe "ALL". Like many discussion boards on the internet this is for like minded individuals to come and discuss their common interests. This board does that. It is a community, a neighborhood like being in your front yard and talking to your neighbor accross the fence etc. I don't believe it is a waste at all. Some come to rant and rave some to heal others just to talk and share experiences of how their lives have changed after leaving the JW org. What's wrong with that.

How long did you own it and how much did it go up in value.
My sister and her husband bought a new house in Pleasanton California in 1993. The houses on either side were almost touching and almost no front lawn. A very nice size backyard two story house about 1800 square feet three bedroom etc. They bought it for $265,000. They sold it last year for $875,000.
