i finally figured out why i'm so socially retarded...it just hit me.. here i was sitting and wondering why i have such a hard time meeting new people, making friends, thinking of relevent things to say, and so on.

it really is painful and scary for me.

i was told who i could talk to, who i couldn't talk to, what i could say, what i couldn't say.

swimming in the pools at conventions, walking around outside at conventions with friends, school-life, worldly boyfriends, worldly friends, school sports, on and on....

You already admit that you were living a double life Jez, how can that not be hypocritical?

Dont get me wrong, I dont intend to judge you, as kids we did what we had to do dependant upon our circumstances but some congregations were more sociable than others, some were more ruled by a clique than others, your life sounds kind of idylic from your description but for those who didnt fit in with the clique or were not as outgoing as you were, its handy to spare a thought. Personally I didnt pretend to be something I wasnt and felt cheated by those who got a more social standing in the congregation by leading a double life. Again we do what we have to do and I cant judge you for it but when you rub salt in the wounds by your first posts it begs a response.

I do however agree with your suggestions regarding the activities such as community groups and so forth and the benefits are second to none but some dont have the capablities yet to push themselves that far and it doesnt come that easy. Its a process that needs to be followed, go easy on us Jez. :-)

Could it be anything else that causes you to be a bit of a recluse? It is easy to blame everything on living the life of a JW, but it COULD be other reasons as well.

Way below the belt Jez, try and be a little more sensitive to other peoples upbringings and environments; not everyones childhood was as utopian as yours; I am sure you are not but your post makes you sound like the shallow ms doublelife of the congregation.

Grow up.

You are so right on point here. I think it is common especially if you have been brought up as a JW that you dont develop socially.

What exacerbates this is when stupid dub parents decide to home teach their kids...which means that the kids dont interact with others and only interact with other introverted kids. Ever been to a dub get together and everyone looks at each other and doesnt speak?!!! to vivid a memory for my liking to be honest.

Watchtower's Legal Council At Bethel Can It be Prosecuted??

since the legal department staff at bethel are members under the control of the governing body or wt organization and subject to them,, not hired and paided but because they are cult members,,could this not be used to nullify the client attorney priviledge??

If you consider in house counsel in other corporations the same ethical rules still apply and wouldnt normally be disapplied just because they worked for the corporation. In the UK the law society regulates solicitors in private practice as well as in house solicitors.

Worth arguing though IMO

so i was out working in my yard the other day.

i've met a lot of my neighbors that i didn't know recently, because as i'm working in the yard, they stop by to chat as they're walking the dog, etc.

i'm really getting to know the neighborhood.

Ive had similar experiences; we have only recently moved into our home and we have got to know our next door neighbours quite well, so much so they have invited us round for BBQ's and so forth (when the weather warms up); we regularly will stop and have a chat on the drive and its nice to be sociable and welcoming instead of false and aloof.

Another reason to be out of the WTS.

Has The CIA Infiltrated The Upper Echelon Of The Watchtower Organization??

the watchtowers call to all congregations for accountants and lawyers especially those familiar with tax laws makes me seriously think they may be in hot water.

since the watchtower organization has been very vocal especially in the past about its anti-government stanse and its df'ing of persons that join the military,or other government jobs, i'm willing to speculate that the united state counter intellignece agency has seen the need to sneak some of its agents inside the wt, for internal security purposes.

also i'm sure that the internal revenue has been keeping a close eye on the gb,, the reason being that they are a huge cash cow, and a dishonest coniving mind control cult.
