i didn't know about this scandal until the last day or two.. derek acorah who stars as a spirit medium on most haunted, was set up recently.
basically a skeptic on the show made sure that before he visited a venue for psychic investigation, he was given fake names of people who were supposedly attached to the property but who are now dead.. the fake names were anagrams of "derek lies" and "faker derek" etc.. he pretended to have a trance and said these false names as though they were coming from the spirit world.. here is the "proof":.

i sure tried to act spiritual in the beginning of my jw life.
i could go through the motions of being a good jw, but i just never could get turned on with being spiritual.i gave great talks and when i was an elder i could fill in for a no-show and never miss a beat.
however, my wife at the time always complained that we didn't do the family study or study the wt lesson ahead of time.
I dont think the society would encourage anyone to be spiritual, they want magazine salespeople. Being spiritual would probably get you disfellowshiped. There was a period before armegeddon back in 75 when I was a good magaine salesperson.
Now my brothers spiritual, he talks to the spirits and they visit each other.
This is on the mark. My sentiments exactly. Gary

Is there such thing as a spiritual Jdub?
I dont think so, but I know what you mean.
Personally I just did what I wanted and didnt pretend (usually to my own detriment); the problem was that when I was more 'spiritually' inclined they doubted my motives and it was even more difficult.
I couldnt stand all those leading double lives to be honest - its only now that I understand what pressure they mustve been under.
Gary
i never checked mine until the other day.
i only looked at equifax.
i saw there are things on there from many years ago that have long been paid.
If you have a CCJ and it is satisfied (and you have proof) you can apply for a Certificate of Satisfaction from the Court itself (should cost you £10/£20)
You can then write to the credit report agency and get them to amend their records.
So I am led to believe.

and an agonizing one at worst.
i recall the days of my black depression .
Given the amount of pressure that is upon dub families it is no surprise that some often suffer from what has been described as chronic fatigue syndrome or ME; although I am no expert I would suggest that predominantly they are suffering from a stress disorder or some form of depression.
Consider this,
Most of us had full time jobs and had families so not only do you have to work full time and run a household you have a rigorous routine of personal study, field ministry, meeting attendance as well as finding some time for recreation. Its nigh on impossible to balance it all and something must give.
I remember a CO saying on the platform once that if we didnt feel the pressure and feel that life was hard work, we were doing something wrong and that we werent trying hard enough. So not only do we have all the day to day stuff to deal with plus so called spiritual aspects to manage but we have a culture where it is unacceptable to cope and find it easy. This results in you putting more pressure on yourself in the hope that if you feel enough pressure you can rest assured that you are doing something right.
Its only now we are out we can actually see this for what it is....does anyone else have similar experiences?
