Did You Get All "Giddy" When You Saw A Fellow JW???
by minimus ini used to embarrassingly get a kick out of going to the conventions and seeing jw families proudly displaying their songbooks and literature strategicially placed in their automobiles for all to see.
some even woyld display yhwh in their windows.
meanwhile everyone in the car would watch to see if other witnesses would notice and give them a joyful wave.

Weird dream
by loosie inok so i had this weird dream last night.
i dreamt that i was standing in line to gain admission to this strange cult.
they were passing out there own manufactured brand or q-tips and they required us to use only those q-tips.

I also had a weird dream over the weekend which was sooo vivid... i dreamt i was going to an assembly hall....(not been in one for at least 7 years)....will spare you the details but hell it was weird...i did wake laughing though...although i was soaking wet.

low self esteem issues....need some experiences.......please
by eye 23 in.
i wondered if anyone would give me their stories of how the wtbts stole their selfesteem....doesn't have to be long.. need to show someone that this is indeed what happens to some..... as a good friend of mine said .

There are a number of ways this is done;
- Condescension and Humiliation; they condescend you at every given opportunity which erodes your self confidence in time and effects your self esteem
- Teachings and Practices; they teach that the meek shall inherit the earth and that you shouldnt question their teachings; to question is not for the meek and so therefore yours is not the place to question.
- Denial of education; their refusal to support education has for many resulted in their personal growth being stunted and as such their self esteem being either eroded or prevented from developing; after all who needs worldly demonic teachings.
- The overall cult mentality generally erodes a persons self reliance and we are therefore taught to rely upon jehovah and take little if any action ourselves or take much if any initiative in getting what we want or need in life.
Just an example of how my family was effected by the WTS.

Some even woyld display YHWH in their windows. Meanwhile everyone in the car would watch to see if other Witnesses would notice and give them a joyful wave. Then there were the JWs that would go on vacation and prominently show their Watchtower and Awakes on the beach or by the pool to see if there were any other "brothers" also on vacation......Was it just me or did you notice such things too??
I think this is merely psychological; when you are a JW you are so cut off from the outside it pleases you to see others around you that are similar. It reinforces a sense of belonging and togetherness and cuts deep into a JW's sense of needing to belong and needing to conform to their surroundings. The WTS would have us believe that this is brotherly love; it isnt it is purely a result of the mindgames played on our vulnerable psyches.

WTS wealth/assets how to be shared?
by greendawn inimagine a situation were the jw org is burst assunder with all the rank and file members leaving and then entering into a legal dispute with the wts over the assets issue: they want to claim most of it because they are the ones that really made it with their unpaid work and conributions in money or property.
they want to have the wts and all its daughter corporations.
on the other hand the wts the shareholders, the directors, will claim that the assets legally belong to them, they can boast of a legally protected ownership over them, they are registered in their name and they should keep everything.

When I obtained the accounts for IBSA and WTS for the UK there seemed like as massive amount of cross company transactions which clearly are not at arms length...as they are all so interconnected; I think it would take something absolutely earth shattering to topple the WTS given its wealth.
In the UK we benefit from transparency in terms of financial reporting but in the US the reporting obligations I am told are different; who knows really how much they have in their coffers and where its hidden; my guess is offshore in a low or no tax jurisdiction but cannot be sure; I was chatting to another member of this board who suggested that some years ago the turnover for the US was at least £1bn but now they do not publish their accounts anywhere they do not have to...hardly a transparent organisation working for the benefit of its members are they?
It is also worth note that should dissolution take place it wouldve been carefully planned and well prepared for; trust me on this having worked with some great finance guys...they truly do know where to hide the money should they need to.
In my view they would dissolve the WTS and then have another non profit organisation waiting for the handover...and wash, rinse repeat, wash rinse repeat.

Attendant ever treat you like a child at convention?
by avishai inthe last straw for me was when an attendant grabbed 22 yr. old me at a cnvention and told me to come inside it was time for it to start.
i said no, and he got in my face.
anyone else get told what to do as an adult?

Simon stepped in a taught him a new phrase Then a while later we decided to take the lift, rather than me having to walk up the stairs to the top of the stand and then right down again to the front to get underneath the seating area where they the mother's room was - little attendent stops the doors closing and tells us to get out of the lift its for attendents only ! Simon taught him an even more colourful phrase We went home early shorty after that !
And here was I thinking Simon was quiet....I like his style....
Attendants were always complete arses; if any of you out there remember Northenden Assembly Hall in Manchester and where the toilets were situated (either side of the platform mid way down the isle)....I seem to remember there was always an attendant each side of the toilets and this one particular day i must have been around 4 times with the same attendant being there at each time.
He had the audacity to look at his watch as I approached and shook his head...as though I had no right to be there...he didnt know where to look when I told him I had the runs....it was a complete lie...but hillarious to say the least.
