Hearing that phrase, "Only those with the right heart condidtion......" always broke me up. Especially hearing it from people who had no idea of what a heart was. I've never dealt with a group of people who, as a whole, were so un-loving as to twist the scriptures to their own benefit and condem everyone else. It was as if everytime they were told to, "Open your bibles and turn to....", they would see a bright light flash out from their personal copies and envelope only them.

The Right Heart Condition
by purplesofa inok, i'm on a roll.. were you all told that only people with the right heart condition would understand the scriptures?.
and, did you constantly feel like you did not have the right heart condition?.
i just sorta gave up as my heart was not going to be manipulated anymore.. so, sometimes i kinda feel like i have a defective heart.. i don't know why this song comes to mind............it just did.. .

I would suggest to try to continue the friendship if your friend is willing as long as it is away from her home. Her husband is being domineering. Your JW friend may try to draw you into the religion so be aware of that. On the other hand your friendship might be something that will help her more than you realize.

Met with the C.O., and need help with 1975
by OnTheWayOut inhere is a quick summary, in august i turned in an elder resignation letter stating that i could not teach doctrine from the governing body because i did not "know" them at all, and i had doubts.
when asked by the elders, i said the doubts spring from this generation and 1975. the elders took no action, waiting for mother to tell them what to do.
would want to talk to me on his visit.. this week, our c.o.

This is just my experiences with quite a few elders and a couple of CO's. There is NO amount of proof from any of the WTS publications that you can bring to their attention that will change their thinking on any given subject. They will NEVER admit their current thinking is flawed. One CO in his concluding talk said that you should NEVER look up scriptures or articles to disagree (support your view) with what you have been told by the BOE.
My thinking now is: "You can lead a mule to water, but you can't make him drink."

Which did you fear more as a JW, God or the Elders?
by JH ini felt that god understood if i missed meetings or didn't go out in the field service very much, but the elders wouldn't.. bottom line, i feared the elders more ...... that's pretty sad.

Gary you break me up...We lived in the country and at night it was dark as the inside of a cow.
I was never in fear of God. The elders worried me more than made me afraid. Once I saw them for what they are the worry part disappeared.

MY SON WAS ATTACKED!
by Dansk inyesterday afternoon my older son, karl, who is studying musical production at brighton university, came round to see his family.
he had just been to see his pregnant girlfriend, who is staying with her mum and dad for a week.. karl is a wonderful boy; the type of son any parent would be proud of.
he is loving, considerate, respectful and has never once caused any trouble or been in any.

Ian hope things work out for the best and the punks get caught. Kids in a pack like that are always brave....they will piss their pants when the time comes. Hopefully Karl will be over this soon. You're absolutely right about the value of possesions when compared to a loving child.

The Dud's Came Calling Today!
by Legolas inhubbie, myself and our son were outside building our garage when i heard a car pulling in, although i am the only lucky one that saw them .

btw....this same person (the pioneer with her husband) met my son and his girlfriend about a month ago at the farmers market so my son said hi because he has been working at the same place with the husband for the last year....and she comes back and says...'i don't know you'... then turns and walks away.....wtf...what an idiot/retarded/stupid thing to say!.

I watched Silent Hill last night and really liked it. The Decent was one of the scariest movies I've ever seen.
