Last time I pointed this out I got shot down in a blaze of grammar lesions. I'm keeping quiet.

Why isn't the bible clear and precise about everything?
by JH inwhy didn't god make the bible more clear?
there wouldn't be thousands of different religions around the world, and people killing one another in the name of god.
why didn't god make the bible clearer, and easy even for even the dummest person to understand?

Good point blondie but if you look through the players listed there's a certain Asian feel to it. Playing cricket is one thing but enjoying it is another matter.
For those that are wondering what the ashes are all about:-

They'd make it 5 balls an over and standardise the size of the pitch.

The landlady of a house in which I once lived had two cats who where very active in the control of local wildlife. I believe that the animals they leave for you are presents but the dead frogs outside my door where not well received especially as I tend to walk around bare footed in the morning, what a wake up.
The worst thing they did was capture a baby mole and where playing with it. I stopped them it ran up the trunking for the electrics and got stuck. I had to tease it out by pulling its tail, it took hours, bloody cats.

Do JWs give you the creeps?
by sonnyboy ini'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but i've recently begun to get the willies when i'm around an active jehovah's witness.
this didn't happen until after i started posting here.. when i stop by my parents' house on a saturday morning and the witnoids show up, i get a sinking feeling in my stomach....a mix between sickness, fear, and anger.
i used to try and put on a happy face and be sociable when they came in, but now i just wave goodbye and as i'm walking out.

It sort of reminds me of how I felt about atheists and pagans when I was a JW.
You sure you not transferring you emotions here? I wont get all deep with you because I'm making it up as I go but if your conditioned to think that there are these “others” out there that will cause you spiritual harm then this is a state that you've become accustomed to and emotionally comfortable with. You find out that the reality is in fact reversed, you've sorted out the facts but the feelings are still there to deal with.
Personally when I see them I'm laughing inside or out.

Do you ever feel....?
by Evanescence inthat a part of you is still in the jw religion?.
do you at times defend the jw religion?
even if you despise it do you still defend it as an automatic reaction?.

that a part of you is still in the jw religion?
No not at all. I got out as soon as I was old enough, was never really that good a study or retaining information and any lingering dogma was chemically removed.
Do you at times defend the jw religion? even if you despise it do you still defend it as an automatic reaction?
Wouldn't have the arguments even if I wanted to defend them. Pre my visits to this forum I may of defended them as harmless nutters but no more.
Do you get offended at all if somebody was to attack the jw religion?
If it was on a false premiss I would but in a case like that I make sure they had the right ammunition for the arguments.
Do you still have habits that you developed as a jw that you struggle to get out of?
I must do. How can their influence not of effected my development during my childhood. As for struggling with them, there's no struggle, it's all part of who I am.

To all the other atheists/agnostics out there
by robhic inafter you got from behind the barrier that was keeping you from thinking logically and had removed the blinders that prevented you from processing information using common sense rather than the 2000+ year old superstitions of some nomadic goat-herders, did you start to find that religious-centric or god-related statements made you shake your head in incredulity?.
case in point: just yesterday as i watched the 5:00 news, a story came on about a young man who had moved from here to california.
while in california he died but the family was so poor they could not afford to have the body shipped back to new orleans.

The wife likes the odd home makeover show and none more than Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Being external to the culture I watch in fascination as the home owner attributes all the work done on their home to god totally disregarding the 500+ workmen, designers, film crew and production team. If it happened over here the presenter would slowly edge away from the lucky recipient making sure not to turn their back on them.

Sorry to hear your hurting, just read up on FMS and I feel for you. You must be so annoyed having to deal with this as well as having to deal with your physical pain. Isn't it annoying how your not taken seriously unless you have a limb hanging off or something. If the U.S social is anything like the UK then you get denied the first time and have to appeal to show how serious you are, this happened to a friend of mine who has chronic fatigue syndrome and a college who's daughter has mycenia gravis, I hope your not put through the same thing.

Like the unbeatable offers that are beatable, closing down sales for a store that reopens or low cut prices that have been put up before hand it's a load of marketing spin. How many apocalyptic cults claim “repent now, we've got plenty of time left”?

Fishy problem.
by mtbatoon inso ive had this fish tank set up for a year and a bit and the stock has slowly dwindled through one thing or another, the main being a bad water change when the ph dropped and some rather nasty silver tipped tetras who seem to have bullied themselves down to two in number.
current residences are a plecostomous, coolie loach and the two remaining tetras.
on saturday i bought five lady guppies and two flying foxes.
