As there are many who believe they are in the right religion but don't follow it's teachings for non conscientious reasons, I'd say that actions over membership is the benchmark on which any judging should be based.

Yep I had it very strong just after I left. Fear is the main tool they use for conditioning. Don't worry though the other voice drowns it out as it get louder.

Why on earth would anyone think that Northern Europeans would be stuffy and Southern Europeans show more passion.

Shatner's offerings have always excited me, "King Henry the Fifth" and "It Was a Very Good Year" are particular favourites of mine. For any others interested in the Star Trek / popular music cross over my I take this opportunity to direct you to ?The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins? by Leonard Nimoy. I still wonder to this day why it wasn't used in screen version of LotR.

Come quickly, Lord Jesus
by myelaine ini have found myself saying this more frequently lately.
do you want an end to this system, or do you want proof of god?
for myself, i am just broken hearted by the state of the world.

I'm sorry myelaine but I can accept that there has been a decline in morals over the last 100 years or even 2000. Morals change but for one time period to judge another is a pointless exercise. We impose our own situations and standards that are impractical to the situation we are looking at. The Roman circus for example was a bloody experience though the execution of criminals or social undesirables was only a small part of the proceedings. The whole show was more a celebration of life through death, a concept we have trouble understanding with 20/21 st century thinking but one the Romans had no problem with. And why only the decline of Christian values, what about Buddhist, Hindu, or Muslim ?
