i know there are mostly ex jw's on here.
i just wondered how many of you are ex jws, left or df'd, how many are still in but have lost heart?.
are there any jws on here who still believe its all the truth, go to meetings and trust the organisation?.
Right now I think that due to the intense indoctrination and control of the WTBS I would have a hard time going to any church or believing in organized religion, I have tried, but just can't bring myself to accept the all the religious lifestyle and beliefs. I don't know if I am angry or just an athiest, it's very confusing to me.I do know that thanks to my upbrining I despise authority and control.

Never baptized publisher, My parents started studying when I was around 3 or 4 then they got baptized when I was 5 or 6, my whole life changed, I knew right away I did not like it, no more birthdays or christmas, being diffrent at school was to much for me, I never really paid attention to much at the meetings, my parents were very strict, (Dad is MS) I was raised an only child, and had no friends, although I am very friendly and outgoing. So I rebelled and acted out, got marked at 14 at 16 got a job & began to fade.
My parents and I have a very good realtionship, I feel very fortunate for this.

since i am sort of late to the party this has probably been beaten to death and if it has just kick this thread to the curb.
i was 11 years old in 1975 and i remember being scared silly the whole year.
i mean there was so much hype about it and the tension in the air was so thick it was unreal.

I wasn't even born in 1975 but I can tell you that all my life I grew up afraid of armageddon comming and freakin out when there was a bad rainstorm or some really bad stuff happened in the world and it was shown on the news, my parents would say "there is the begining of the end." The illustrations in the books we were shown as kids coupled with talks of vultures eating the flesh of dead non JW's was pretty frightening. How they can scare little kids like that is beyond me.
I would always be scared and wonder if I would make it, I was a very rebellious kid and did not really like being a witness so this was always a huge concern for me.

I am not sure what the deal is, I left the org at 17 so I missed out on that talk. I have read the WT site and it states that the (married couples) christians individual conscience will have to guide them in what they call "love play" and "caressess prior to intercourse, so my understanding of that is that they do not believe in foreplay as that would be manipulation of the genitals and or mutual masterbation. So maybe they really believe sex is wrong and only meant for procreation, but how are they going to enforce such a view on people? So in my opinion they just use control and guilt as much as possible in the marital bed and hope we don't have so much fun or pleasure, that way people will only use it to procreate.

OMG I just read the part about touching of breasts & genitals, this is so stupid!
Obviously the GB doesn't want people to engage in foreplay, I do veiw that as anti-woman, how do they expect us to have fun and reach orgasm? Well they don't.

I was the opposit, I never wanted kids, just the thought made me cringe, crying,diapers,breastfeeding, pregnancy,labor the whole thing.
So I worked made good $, traveled the world, got married, my hubby wanted kids, and I slowly warmed up to the idea, and I decided to do it. I would have liked to have waited another 2 years but oh well, I am very happy I did it, and I love my son more than anything in the world, I never realized that having kids could be so wonderful satisfying. I think all women should get to expirience everything that life has to offer, it makes you a better rounded person.

Yes I chose to get pregnant just as you chose to do manual labor.
I think it's an honor to be woman and bear children, the expirience is wonderful and nothing in this world will ever compare.
